Ok i have a 96 f150 2wd
I have weak springs on the passenger side, its sagging bad to that side.

I just put some 31x10.5 on it. no big deal. kinda lifted the truck al ittle bit.

My g/fs dad and i got his nissan hardbody running like a top and wheeling. now ive fallen back into my old groove of wheeling again. and im wanting it raise it slightly.

Not much really, its 2wd and lifting those a bunch is stupid.

So what im thinking is.

Im broke i got layed off a month ago, have to move back to ma and pops...from wyoming to oklahoma.
A set of stock springs are 135.00 before shipping from JBG. and i gotta stop at the junkyard and pickup to more wheels (back wheels are bent bad)
SO i want to try and put form 4by coils are f250 coils on the front.

correct me if im wrong but 4x4 coils are a bit taller, and maybe f250 coils. but is there a difference in the diamter or should they bolt straight up?

im not wanting to throw tons of money at this because i just came into a wheeler truck..a nissan hardbody for free...but i gotta replace the coils anyways.

F250's dont have coils, aside from newer SD's.

2wds did i believe. idhaft to go crawl under my 67.

i was refering to f250 2wds sorry to not clarify.

im just wanting to make sure the coils will drop in...give me a little more height 2inches or so with out spending a bunch of money.

50 bucks a set from a junkyard.

The F250 springs aren't much taller, they are a bit stiffer, but, overall legnth is about the same. The 4x4 trucks get their added ride height from the axle beam being taller itself, the axle centerline is about 2" further from the bottom of the spring than on a 2wd.

If I remember right, the E-Van coils have a longer OAL though.
BUT, and this is a big but, a 4x4 TTB axle from another 80-96 F150 will bolt right in in place of your 2wd one. Instant lift, and you're almost there for a 4x4 swap.... LOL

thanks for the info, so evan coils from the same year are longer overall? Maybe.

im not doing a 4x4 conversion. This is my daily driver...i just need a little lift for my roads on the farm and some afternoon mud hole hopping.

I got that hardbody for the serious wheeling, just gotta get it running next week, throw some simple guages in it. Another set of tires. and some saw-saw(slow this afternoon cant remember name Doh) modifactions.

The 4x4 TTb swap is a great idea--you can pick-up a TTB with Diff very, very cheaply.

TTB? basically the stock box 86-96 f150 4by front axle setup? not up on the lingo i guess.

id go SAS personally.

But really no point, gonna get a beater for MPG, the hard body and Fullsize Bronco for wheeling, and this truck will be my old ladys to drive...but plans do change we will see what happens after i start fixing it up...might go insane. Yall know how it is...

we made a 1.5" spacer on my old truck. went under the coil springs for more lift. im not sure on the 2wd, but on my ttb it was basically a 1.5" block with a stud on each end...ill look for a pic. 4xford has them on my olf ttb setup i sold him...

sorry for digging up the old thread buuut,
svt, do you have a picture of the said spacer? could you kinda describe it better? I'm going to try to machine something to level out my F150. thanks.

I'll have a complete one geared 3.55 for ya once my SAS is done :D Only downside is that is from an early '88 and has the top hat style flange mount lockouts. I put it on my '90 to convert it to 4x4.

van coils huh? what years fit a 93 F150? best to use E250 springs i'm guessing
