: differences in OEM front springs?

i see tons of cheap ebay lifts listed for 1/2 and 3/4 ton that supposedly wont fit one tons, yet i called a local springworks shop that is very reputable, claiming the only difference is in number of leaves, fitment is interchangeable according to him. are 1ton front leaves wider or something?

the background is that my k30 has the wrong set of headers and i have a clearance issue with the front driveshaft and yoke. id just get the right headers, but the truck (turbo400/4.10/31s) is also screaming down the highway at 60mph and i want to run a little more tire to calm her down. so a little lift is two birds with one stone. i refuse to cut the body or turn this into a major project, as i have too many. the truck will never be a woods vehicle so flex doesnt matter at all.

how would you guys get 2 more inches up front on a $200 or less budget without too much hacking? would like to replace the whole spring pack if possible.

The front springs interchange between 1/2, 3/4 and 1 ton, any off the shelf lift kit spring will fit your truck. If you're buying a kit beware that the hardware and steering components are different for the 1 ton. I bought a 1/2 ton Rough Country kit for my old crew cab, just had a to pay a little extra to sub in the correct hardware and steering block.

zero rate lift block and a long rear shackle.

thanks for the answer, i appreciate it.

could i not reuse the same ubolts/bolts and spring clamps from the front dana 60 if i were to change that whole spring pack? i figured the new pack would be comparable thickness, just with a positive arch.

figured i would use an adjustable drop draglink if i went that route.

Lift springs will be thicker, typically 2.5"~3" thick, so your OE u-bolts probably aren't long enough.
