first off thanks for any help. i am building a c6 trans for a f 150 on tons with a built 351w right now and id really like some pointers from those that have built these transmissions. ive searched but would really like some links to actual parts lists to build one of these up like ive heard like aod gear sets for lower first and second and whatever. ive built c4 before is there fancy servos and things needed . and help on definate parts would be great. also a quick break down on long and short factory c6 transfer case adapters. thanks

there are two diffrent outputs for the 4x4 c6 - a long and a short - one is around 5" the other is around 7" that is it

and it is a e40d planet gearset - not the aod

how do you plan on driving it ? id get a e40d gearset and a good mild shift kit, aftermarket servo piston, run a deep pan - it should have no problem with whatever you toss at it

that sounds like a good recipe thanks for the correction on the gears i have a few E40D i can take apart for the gears.

I needed a new valve body when i was rebuilding mine and i ended up getting the TCI StreetFighter valve body and I am very happy with it, it comes ready to bolt in and has the 'shift kit' setup that they put in their StreetFighter trannies. In D if i hold it on the floor it shifts 1-2 at 5300 rpm and chirps the tires. My 400 isnt stock though:smokin:

There is always the poor mans shift kit. 16 penny's, 1/8" drill bit, 3 carbureter check balls. Also the little lever that applies band pressure has a letter code on it starting with "A" . A is the softest shift and it get's firmer as you go through the alphabet.
I did the 16 penny shiftkit and a "d" lever. It'll bounce your head off the back window if you're into the throttle hard.

i run the art carr manual reverse pattern VB (off road style with compression braking) and it will chirp the 42s in the 1-2 shift. The E4OD gear set along with the roller thrust bearings is a great mod and goes a long way in reducing the internal drag. Ford Racing also sells a version of the E4OD gear set that has 6 pinion planets (I run this kit) for atomic bomb strength. I also run the E code shift lever and R servo.

Contact Jay at broaderperformance.com

He has a "book" that comes with modification instructions that I have Yet to find ANYWHERE on the net. Some oiling/shaft/pump/case mods. i got all my stuff through him.

Full rollerized C6, E40D low gear set, extra clutches in all the packs, servo mods, basically the 1,000 hp low gear low drag build all behind a 460.

How much you want to do ?:grinpimp:

Good advice. Imo, Jay Broader is THE man when it comes to C6s.

Bringing this to the top, having never touched an auto tranny and not wanting to do it 5 times I am really looking for someone that knows how to build them in norcal (sacramento specifically).

It's behind a HO 5.0 with a 203/300 behind it, running 37's and it's not strictly for off road. I want it to be road friendly..

thx :grinpimp:
