hey guys, Ok before you start firing I did do a search on this. I am not a ford guy, I'm helping out a buddy of mine on a build. I had a very simple question, i'm assuming that to install 5.13 or 5.38 gears you need a 4.56 and up carrier correct?

Depends on what gears you get. For the high pinion axles, most companies offer a thick gear that will work on the 4.10-down carrier.
