I hate to do this, but I must post saying that Oscar Juarez (ls1andvortec) contacted me via PM a few months ago to sell me a smog legal engine swap with transmission and smog equipment after I posted in a for sale ad looking for one. I was stationed overseas at the time and sent him payment while on my way home. I paid him $2260 for the whole setup delivered to TJ where my truck is being built. I won't air his laundry, but will say that since my return, he has managed to get the engine to the fab shop but not the transmission.

His cell phone has a full mailbox and he won't answer my emails anymore. If anyone has any information or contact with him, can you please let him know that Jon's build is on hold and he needs the transmission to move forward. I am not budgeted for another transmission, so I'm in a tough spot.

I apologize for burring my head in the sand and acting slow about delivering the transmission I owe you.

I am in the middle of divorcing and enjoying the many perks and penalties that come with it (appliances and furniture removed from my house over night etc.) One of the many consequences is the Family Law restraining order which limits me to the funds I have available. I have broken many promises (you are one) to my friends and customers, I have put my money down by forwarding engines and equipment to many customers and race car drivers (you guys know who you are) I promised this people I wouldn’t collect for a long time and recently I have been hounding them for payments to pick up the slack on the loose ends on my business.
At this time in my life I’m not too good at taking any heat but I understand I shouldn’t make my problems yours.
Let me schedule deliver for may 20th at Jason’s shop, I have taken a personal interest on your project as am the biggest SMOG LEGAL SWAP advocate and not many people support me on this, one of the reasons why I didn’t mind spending 4 hours in customs and tipping every uniformed officer (thieve) that asked for a “soda”. I want to spend a day tutoring Jason on what it takes to comply with the BAR and get you a certificate.

I appreciate your time and patience, I will bring the balance owed for custom fees to 0 and the custom fees on the tranny are on me.

You were correct, the end of March is when all hell broke loose and my utilities and creature comforts were turned off (internet, cable, phones) since than my internet surfing and email corespondance have suffered.

Oscar, I'm sorry it came to this, man. I truly didn't want to go here, but complete loss of contact means complete loss of confidence. I don't think it should be deleted. I had issues with Oscar and he worked through them. It's a great testimony, that he's working through personal problems and trying to get his business in order.

Thanks for the interest in this. The plan is for Oscar to deliver the transmission on the morning of the 21st as no one will be at the shop to take delivery today.

Just a quick note to say that we mutually agreed that the best would be to deliver the transmission yesterday. I got the word from my fab guy and a call from Oscar saying that the transmission had landed. This case is closed. Thanks Oscar! I will recommend your services to others in the future.

After discussing this with Oscar, his decision was that this thread be locked after I posted.

Sorry to hear about your issues.

I am glad to se that Oscar is still alive and doing well under the circumstances... I am just going through the big D myself and know how frustrating it is....

But speaking of frustrating..... that is the perfect word for my business with Oscar...
In December 2007 i bought a 2006 5.3 Vortec with a 4L60E... I paid extra to get double up (had antother engine laying around) of the following: Reworked wiring harness, reprogrammed ECU, drive by wire throttle pedal, fuel pump...

I even had to pay taxes on theese things, and didn`t realize that I got only the engine and trans... :( And the egine was missing the alternator as well..

So now I am stuck with a useless engine! :(
And I sold the other engine to my brother and he need the extra parts I ordered from Oscar!

Now it`s been almost two years... and Oscar never ansver any mails..
I hva found out that he has sold his old business Hotrodcontrols to some guys named Bob Santoro and Bosco Nieman... i found some e-bay adds from them and asked them what to do... the only reply from them was a copy of a mail that was sent to Oscar asking him to finish the business with me as stated in their agreement!

So I am hoping someone can help me get in touch with Oscar! Does anyone have his phone number or address! I am going to LA in November and would love to have this issue fixed by then!

I really want to finish my car and my brothers car to use next summer!
Because we havent been able to use our cars this summer :( :(
