I'm not trying to bust your chops here but what is the problem?

This forum is in fact our communication portal. Some great friends have been made here and we communicate like friends.

We talk about the trips we have been on, our rigs, when we are going to get together next, the nice rigs we see and the lame rigs we see.

We are all friends here and we discuss all sorts of things that go on in our little web community.

The entire board laughs out loud at the JU and nobody seems to worry about it. It has nothing to do with the BB really. Many of the people there just happen to provide ammo for good conversation.

This is the PBB :skull: . Camo spent forever fighting off the :rainbow: in an effort to maintain the kind of thick skinned, no bullshit, "hard core" community that sets us apart from the others. If it's the red star fund you are worried about corrupting... why? The PBB as it is is exactly why I paid my $20 bucks. I'm sure I'm not the only one.

So why the change? Why now? Really. It's no different than a year ago when you guys were all bash posting the lame asses at the JU.

When people were bash posting JU, Lance had to lay down the law and smack all the idiots doing that. The idiots were going to JU, flaming, linking to pirate4x4.com and posting on the PBB to brag about it. Guess what happend next... A bunch of JU idiots came over here and started posting stupid shit, and generally making a mess.

Since then cross-board posts have been outlawed. It's not a change, I'm just enforcing the PBB policy.

What is the point of posting about BB threads here? Everyone here already knows OS is an A-hole :rolleyes: and that most people on the BB aren't into hardcore rockcrawling. We don't need more posts to support these facts. If its entertainment value you are looking for, try the Chit Chat forum, that's what it's for. The IH Tech Forum is for IH Tech, and IH related 4-wheeling Posts.

there still is alot of information that comes across that board that is aplicable to both extreems, and "hardcore" people over there that don't come over here.



seems to me it needs to be a judgment call..... granted the slamming, derogratory post can be done away with (yes, I was responcible for the last one.... didn't expect it to go that far), but many times good stuff can be cross posted, or refered to. The recent axle "brain dump" is a good example.... but by the rules you layed down, even that is not allowed.

I for one find both boards to offer something valuable. Sometimes it takes a combination of extreme and run-of-the-mill to find the thing that you need for what you are doing.

I for one really found the "brain dump" about axles to be a large help for my project. It answered a number of questions that I couldn't find the answer for no matter who I spoke with.

Now I have them, and things are progressing.

If it takes PBB to get the intellectual juices flowing elsewhere, I say so be it. Sometimes the opposite is true and the BB gives the valued insight.

That being said, nobody always has the right answer. IH-minded folks have to work harder to achieve the same goals in off-road stuff, and having PBB and the BB there to offer different views is just what our minority needs.

What we don't need is more division from a mindset that some are "superior" to others (O.S. is excluded of course;) )

I say cross-flow helps, but can respect the moderator's view on this.

I think that was the real point of the other thread. OS has helped as many people as Tom, however, Tom is viewed as a good guy and OS is a bad guy. :rolleyes: EDIT: Tom is responsible for breaking more IH OME than anybody alive. He is the real bad guy! :D

I think the intent is just that, to prevent cross board bashing. I don't think anyone has a problem with posting good tech between boards. Hell that's how half of us wound up here in :vadar: land.

Let's just keep the personal attacks between boards out of it and no one will have a problem.

Okay, back to regular programming.

I AGREE TOTALLY. ;) The way I see it, if you still have to go to THAT board for info, you just aint hard core PBB :D

My question - If you are inquiring about (widgets) and you want to make reference to a post on the other board, for compairison "not flaming", Is it OK to post the URL or is it POR policy to have zero reference between the boards.

I know the BB sends people to the POR for more hard core questions. I just want to make sure I don't do anything to piss off the POR. I enjoy the info for too much to not be a part of it anymore.

But I do also value the information I get from the BB. So I just want to make sure I'm not stepping on toes and rules.

Thank you for the clarification.

I like both boards. I enjoy the folks from both boards. But I must admit - no one has flamed me for a while here. Maybe I need to ask some questions about muffler bearings and headlight grease?:D Seriously - I enjoy each board in there own way.

BTW - The radiator seams to be holding up just fine. Of course now the fuel tank leaks :flipoff2:

I also broke out the sabre saw and did a little fender trimming yesterday. I got my 36" TSl's under my project. Looks funny - like maybe it needs more trimming.

Ok, I'll fess up. I visit BB near daily but almost never post anymore. I used to try to educate the newbies on engine mods, but gave up after getting flamed daily by the old timers for trying to ruin an IH motor.

BB is a great site for the first time Scout owner with no wheeling experience and for someone trying to restore one. Lots of good general info if ya need it.

Got nuthin agin flamin' a mall poser, but we don't need no board bashin'.
