Has anyone taken out the input gear on an LT230 and had it resplined to match the tranny output. I have an SM420 that has the long output shaft to go to my 6 spline Spicer 18. What I want to do is make a new adaptor and respline the input gear in the t-case. Has anyone had this sort of thing done. I know if I take it to an EDM shop like Sacramento EDM they can do it but not sure of price. Any ideas?
I have measured the splines and am pretty sure the 6 spline shaft is large enough so that there won't be any sign of the 10 spline left over after machineing it out.

Dean,

Internal Splines are more expensive to cut, so the price would be higher than to make a new output. Give Timm or Mathew a call at BCBoffroad. I dont' know if you can just buy the adaptors, or if you need to have the work done there, but I saw several 420-230 adapter shafts when I was there a month ago. The # can be found here www.bcboffroad.com

Thanks. I called but no answer. It looks as though Tim has made the move down from Portland.
