I have a person interested in buying the gears from the D41 I pulled from my CJ2A.. He wants to put them in a D44.. I want to make sure they will; fit as he says before I sell them to him so I am not stuck refunding his money later if they dont fit..so my question is does anybody know if they will fit?? he wants to put them in this weekend but I do not want to let them go till I know for sure they will fit..

I'm no expert. But just from looking at them the 41 parts are much thinner. Comparing a 5.38 from a 41 to a 5.38 from a 44.

D41 Ring and Pinion is bigger than the D44. They won't fit. The only thing that really interchanges is the axle shafts. I have also heard that the spider gears interchange, but I'm not 100% sure on that either.

You can swap the side gears and axle shafts from a 44 into a 41, but that's about it.
