it was a kit that my uncle bought off ebay a few years ago with plans to put it on his dana 44's that were going to go under his 800 but that never happened. The kit was from "Steel Tech Solution" and came with the bolt on brackets and 5 on 5 1/2 drilled rotors.

Blind Driver 05-17-2009, 10:46 AM Took almost 6 weeks to finally get all the parts from Partsmike for my high steer. They kept sending me too many or the wrong parts :shaking:
Tore into the truck and realized that they forgot the thick washer for the springless kit :mad3:
I'm losing faith with vendors these days. I even had them all painted and lookin' purdie :) All of this was for the H1 wheels that I should have by Monday. I forgot I'll have to swap oil pans. Good thing I have one that'll work :D
Local guy has a 70k 392 for $600 out of a motorhome that he swapped for a Cummins. It's tempting to make the swap as my 392 from my 1100 has a bit too much blowby to swap in place of the 345. Although it does run strong.:mr-t:
JetFxr 05-17-2009, 12:02 PM My neighbor stopped by to show me a Scout that he had put a D300 with a 4to1 kit and did a FI conversion on the 345. I know you folks are more into function than form, but this is a sweet looking Scout. It is on 38's T-19 wide yada yada yada. Note this has the same flares that I used on my SSII............Robert
Urban Wheeler 05-17-2009, 12:24 PM Went from days to nights for two weeks, a week of days and back to a week of nights before I rotate back to days. :shaking: that week of days was a welding class I had to take for work. We spent one day gas welding and the other 4 stick welding. Flat, horizontal, vert up, and overhead. I burned up 13 dozen rods. I took the plates and stuff to work and sliced them on the bandsaw last night, I did pretty good but there were little inclusions here and there. I need to slow down.
After class I spent the afternoons rebuilding a t-18 for a guy to put in his CJ. So far this weekend... work.
crashhawk 05-17-2009, 12:42 PM I know you folks are more into function than form,
I wish mine had either.:(
I've accomplished nothing this weekend. Cleaned a little around the house. Spent mucho time on the web lookin for a house back home in Ky. Completely boring and unproductive.
MochaMike 05-17-2009, 01:19 PM Took the Scout to my son's baseball game.
I think I blew a head gasket on the way home. :(
I'm hoping it's just an intake gasket, but either way, I've got a lot of work to do before my first trip of the season (May 30th).
beaterscout 05-17-2009, 05:46 PM Had a good week Scout wise. I redid the steering setup and it works waaaay better. At least 12x better haha. Anyway, heres the old setup you all remember and hate:

Heres the new setup:
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b184/87cutlass403/newimprovedsteering.jpg
Made a new tie rod, the draglink is new with a heavier duty end where it attaches to the tie rod. I also installed a steering stabilizer.
After finishing up some odds and ends I got to wheel! Only got a couple pics snapped before the batteries died in the camera but you get the idea.

I twisted the rear driveshaft and snapped it while the front shaft simultaneously slipped out. Time for a longer travel shaft in the front and a new rear. I'm still surprised the front D27 held up to the abuse.
Brandon 05-17-2009, 07:26 PM no Scout stuff, went fishing with my daughter and she caught this :)
The Scout will get finished, kids are growing too fast though - gotta enjoy some fam time while I can. Probably should have just bought a rig, but then that requires money
Binder 05-17-2009, 08:47 PM Pics for the rest of us who didn't.:flipoff2:
I didn't take pictures, maybe Ben did?
BLK Scout 800 05-17-2009, 09:44 PM I just got home from a great day of wheeling.:smokin:
Me too.....:smokin: Videos in my link for those who didn't :flipoff2:
Ben Segrest 05-17-2009, 10:18 PM Friday helped a buddy replace a rotten sill under his house. Sat went to a birthday party for my friend Jody's little girl (9), then went and checked our hog trap (empty). Sun had lunch with the fam then went to my little sisters house for a party slash crab boil. Just got home from that. Oh, and I just turned 28 about twenty minutes ago.

theycallmefudd 05-18-2009, 06:12 AM Whent to the bar Sat night and Mrs. Fudd got her boobie grabbed by a crack hoe + I blew beer out my nose I was laughing so hard- It kinda took the wife by suprize:grinpimp: Sunday - yard work all day- well afternoon, I cant deal with 2:30 in the morning going to bed like I once could so I slept my ass in! Even made the wife get up and feed the dogs and let-em out since going out was her idea...... Now that the Bull shit yard work's I got the green light to do scout work again
1wook 05-18-2009, 06:35 AM Spent time with the kids.
I cleaned all the stock brackets off my late 80's ford D60, and cut half the cast spring perch away.
Then I grooved my lawn mower tires!:emb: They work great on my hill side now though.
uglyscout 05-18-2009, 07:12 AM Fri: Swapped out a MC on my lil' brothers truck. Fought bleeding the brakes for an hour and gave up. Worked on the alignment. Still getting some goofy steering out of it. Timed it -- it runs way better, but something is still wrong.
Sat: Worked on my driveover fender project on my trailer. Sweated my ass off welding out in the sun. Finished it up and am ready to roll.
Sun: Took the lil lady to the beach for the day. Sunny and nice until noon. Then the clouds/breeze showed up.
Worked sat, and then some A/C work in the evening.
Sunday is was hot, got some links welded up and some other parts for a friend. He tack them in place with the 110 mig. I tack them with the TIG before hitting em with the stick welder. He right on track with everyone else's build, should finish some time next year ( of course he say that again next year too:shaking:)
I moved my ARB locker switches from under the hood wrapped in a bundle to the cab. Now I just need to decide where on the dash to mount them. :D
tsm1mt 05-18-2009, 01:24 PM Took the little ones to the Carnival.. got a little work done on the GN (drilling and painting portions of the tongue so I can put the new junction box and break-away kit in).
Went to the swap meet in Bozeman on Sunday - finally sold my 6 dually wheels and then bought another hydroboost setup I won't get around to using for a while. :D
Got my tires / wheels mounted and dismounted and generally swapped around so that my two "grooved twice past the wear bars" TSLs are off and two nearly-new ones on and ready to go back on the Scout. 4 tires with tread.. I wonder how well that'll work.
Trying to get everything ready for the race in Powell this weekend..

Chris I got my Dad a pressure bleeder for Christmas last year. You fill the reservoir and pump it up, then bleed everything. One person can do it, and it makes the job much faster and easier. If you still having trouble, he's probably loan it to ya or come over one night with it and give you a hand.
As for me, I went shooting on Saturday morning, then went on a nice drift boat trip down the Clackamas river. Spent the rest of the day watching movies with two goo buddies I don't get to spend much time with.
slipscomb 05-18-2009, 02:50 PM Well I haven't posted in awhile so I guess I should give an update.:smokin: Went to King of the Hammer Right Coast Qualifyer this weekend at Rausch Creek, PA to co-drive/pit crew for Dean Benner (025) in his buggy. The first lap seemed to put us around 5th place however he cut a right front tire down and bent the rim pretty good trying to drive back to the pits. I got to change the tire on the course but the engine stalled midway through the course on his second lap so I ran about 2 miles out on the course to diagnose the problem, removed the crank sensor and ran back to the start/finish line only to pass out. The sensor was replaced to no avail while I was shoved in the back of the meat wagon for an analysis of my own. Turns out it waas heat exhaustion coupled with my current injuries put me down for the remainder of the day. Dean didn't finish the race but it was an unforgettable experience and we definitely had fun hangin out with Kurt and the Quadratec guys doin "shot ski's" and cookin Doug from Extreme Axle Sales in his dually! Here are a few pics from the weekend....
