So..I'm helping my buddy with his 85 B2, died while driving, No spark.
Before calling me he replaced the ignition coil, the pick up coil, tfi module, cap, rotor, and wires. Local Auto Zone tested old module and it was bad.
After lots of testing, I still have no pulse from TFI to the coil. The TFI has power but no ground wich comes from ecu according to wiring diagram. I disconnected it from the ecu and grounded it but still no pulse. I pinned out the ecu and I have all powers and grounds to it.
So my next question is what is the blue wire from the ecu to TFI for ? I'd like to know before I tell him to replace the ecu.
Best I can figure is... Power to pick-up coil, ground to pickup coil, tach back to ecu? I don't see any power or ground on this wire. Anyone know or have any helpfull insight? Besides converting to duraspark.
