I've being told that a starter from a early 90's 1 ton with a 460/c-6 will bolt in on a 351m/c-6 combo. So far all i've been able to find out is the flywheel tooth count is the same, I was wondering if anyone had done this or knew of it being done

Reason being is it's coming on time to replace my tired factory starter but I'd like something with a little more punch than the stock replacement.

Get one of those Hi-Torque Mini Starters

Oh, and I think I was able to swap the 351 starter when I went to the 460.

How early '90s? I think they are the same thru '91.

yes they will swap, they will also swap onto the manual 351m/400's as well, some of the early automatic starters from the cars don't swap though, as the patterns are different.
