so, i have had my P22 for three days, allready have about 750 rounds out of it :laughing: i imagine its going to be in the high thousands within a month or two. any one had any parts wear out on there P22's yet? i have almost been exclusively shooting Aquila Interceptor ammo, and the shit runs at 1470 FPS :eek: will this hot load severly diminish barrel life ?

1470fps is only hot in a .22

I have heard rumors of 100,000 round plus barrels out there still doing fine.

i got mine for 320. thought i got raped, but it was 15 minutes from my house, and i brought it home that day. :D been super fun. i tried shooting some American eagle 38 gr out of it, didnt cycle as good. the Aquila makes some god damn noise though!!! almost as loud as my 92f with cheap ammo.

Is that 1470 fps over a chronograph or what the box says? Chances are it won't make that out of a pistol.

A coworker wore his P22 out in about a year, Smith gave him a new one (the barrel I think was OK, the slide/frame was what wore out).

I don't know the number of rounds he put through the 1st one, but it was an insane amount.

Not a normal wear type of deal by any means.....bricks and bricks, one after another, weekly.............just hosing it with various cans on it for the fun of it.

He's since slowed up on his rimfire consumption, has 3 P22's now and hasn't had any wear or other issues with them.
