excatly how rare is one of these? i got one given to me but i dont think its gonna work with my 23 spline input for my dodge from what i read on here because of the input size difference.

the input came out of a dodge 205 behind a 518 and a cummins.

BTW the case came with a 465 and from what i read its pretty rare

not horribly rare...
85 and later 1 ton chevys and chevy crew cabs had em. They were available in vans, too, up to around 93 with VSS from 91 on.
should be a few hundred thousand out there.

this one is from an 85 gmc i believe my grandpa gave me the whole 1 ton srw truck and i thought id died an gone 2 heaven. pulled the 60 front found out it was junk(spun a pinon bearing RACE!! never even thought that was possible) plus now i got a 205 that i dont even know is gonna work with my dodge.

what i really want to know is if the input bearing is gonna work or if i need to start looking for another case. im waiting on my input shaft. it should be here today

that is the rare ish version of the setup because as time went on they put less and less 465's in trucks and the round face 205's are 85. so to find that setup is 1/10,000 but still not worth much.

it will have the LONG 32spl female input which can be easily swapped out for the short one for doublers.

contact corey young here and he might be able to help you more with you input ??.

Must be a region thing cause a round 205 is hard to come by around here.

not to common here either.

The 32 spline version of the 465/205 combo is worth about double what the 10 spline version is worth, at least based on the 3 sets I have sold this year.

I originally purchased an 82' 10 spline 465/205 combo for $200 (syncro) & planned on rebuilding the 205 with non syncro gears

BUT just bought an 86' TH400/205 combo (6 Round) for $300 with 84,000 original kms. So I'm replacing the old 10 spline out put shaft on the 465 for a newer 32 spline output & looking for the proper adapter to eliminate the 10 spline coupler:smokin:

newer 6 bolt 32 spline stuff is also rare where I live, I'm having a tough time finding the 32 spline output shaft, adapter & a hydraulic clutch set up

I have an 89 dodge NP205 (with adapter). The input gear is 29 spline & was available behind the getrag 5 speed from 89-91. The Dodge case is exactly the same as the pre 85 chevrolet race track case with the exception of two connecting bar mounts on the side like the TH400/205's had. It also has the "large" input bearing (same chevrolet 32 spline)

I have no use for the input gear or the adapter if thats what you're after

i you hav ethe stock 465 32 spline out put you dont use a coupler

it is a long as shaft that goes directly to the 205.

found out its not gonna work. the input bearing wont fit. make some offers on the whole set up. 465 and tcase with fixed yoke. im interested in a 23 spline dodge 205 or a 10 or 27 spline chevy 205 with a fixed yoke only no slip yoke stuff

i have a seperate 10spline input in perfect shape with a perfect coupler and a 100% complete 27 spl 205.

My bad:laughing:, I understand they are a direct mate (no coupler) I was actually refering to the 85-91 465/205 adapter (or 465/208 adapter) either way, hard to come by up here!

Cheers
