Since I am hearing all the inner axle woes from you Longfield boys, I asked Chris Geiger if they could make a CroMo Cruiser Long side inner axle to match the short side they already make.

His response was that they would make a 50 unit order IF they could pre-sell 20.

I think that is the way to go, especially for the price.

Problem is that both of the 40's axels are different in size than the minitruck. It goes like this:

minitruck long side = 60 series long side
60 series short side = 40 series short side
40 series long side < than minitruck long side.
40 series short side < minitruck short side

40 series axle length < mini truck axle length is < 60 series axle

The custom short side would not help with out the custom long side. It would help the 60 series owners alot though:D

I do not think they make a short side for the 40 yet, just a long side for the 60 (same as minitruck).:D

Tried a search. This was discussed awhile back. The short side 40 is NOT the same as the short side minitruck.

I was thinking about this when I read that thread.
The only Cruiser/mini axle that is the same is the FJ60 long side. so if you have a 60 or 60 axle in the front of your cruiser you will be set. At least for the long side.
Actually, if they made a short side and long side for the 40 they would have the cruisers prety much covered..

Front Inner Axle Shafts

FJ60/2 short side same as FJ40 short side ~ 17-1/4"
FJ60/2 long side same as minitruck long side (79-85) ~ 31-7/16"
Minitruck short side fine spline ~ 15-5/16"
FJ40/55 long side fine spline (68-83) ~ 29-1/8"

I'm not ready for cromo inners yet myself....but I'm still thrashing the Newfields. Only one set of guts this year (so far) - maybe I need to play harder!

Personally I would rather have the CroMo's from All Pro than the "Improved" CV Unlimited inners.
