I thin kit looks like a great deal. Look closely at the V8 conversion. Some of these contain lots of snakes!
I don't know how you can go wrong at that price. Good Luck.

Time to have a little fun... one thing about those great sounding deals.... RUN AWAY from 90 out of a 100. Walk away from 9 of them, after looking at your 100th cruiser.... it's a keeper!
This FJ-40 has been on craigslist for some time now.
In other words, no one dumb enough to buy it!
1976 Toyota FJ-40, Chevy 350 V8 conversion done right.
Bubba used a good size sledge hammer, and hand formed those motor mounts. Good strong bailing wire to hold up the transfer case. Na, it dont overheat (in the dead of winter in Minnesota).
Fully smog legal.
Until you go to smog it, by then your check has been cashed and I didn't say nuttin about needing to HOOK UP the smog.
Mint condition inside and out.
Yeo, dem dare rust holes are all original
Runs and drives great.
Until you get it over 30 mph, then just shakes like ol Elvis
Full cage rollbar.
Yep, that cage was made from the finest PVC pipe we could find at the big box store. I even fitted a fitting in it so we could use it to hold more gas inside that tube!
Custom front bumper
Yep, wrapped it around a tree or two, looks pretty custom
AM/FM cassette.
Nuttin but the best stereo from Wall mart
33" tires, 4" lift.
Dem tires even hold air! Those 8" shackles lifted that puppy right up too!
Sorry, just couldn't resist. I remember one cruiser with "new top, and new paint" listed... top was new in 1975!!! Paint was done with a broom and the best LATEX available. I RAN away from that one (none of the four tires had the same tread... Dude was pissed that I didn't even come up to the house. I was pissed that I drove 2 hours to look at the POS]

please tell me you'll get rid of that "brushguard"..
heh, i'm everywhere!
actually i've just been gettin around to check the PBB... school and
polo pretty much rule my life now...
the money factor and it's also a '76 detures me... it would have to
be darn near perfect for me to buy it... the fact that they own
some sort of a shop is also a plus...
M.D. has dibbs tho, as i would hope no one would pursue a
cruiser that i brought to the PBB with questions...
M.D.: tell me how it fares and if you are interested too..
thnx

>FJSRULE... Brushguard? First thing to come off!
>LCL... Thanks for your consideration and ethics. Just saw an add in the
SF paper: "77 FJ-40 7,000.00 and a '72 for 4,000.00. stock and hard tops.

Before finilizing the deal make sure you take it to an indepenent shop to have it smogged, I got 5 bucks they say it has to goto a ref. Especially in calif.
I haven't called about the red '76 yet, but it's at a place called H&H Motors in
Campbell (San Jose area)..
It's a two hour drive for me but it's a show up and look kinda thing as it's on a lot. Will keep you posted... The '77 is a bit out of my price range
