: '96 Front D60, DRW---- F250 TTB OUTERS?
JohnToyRatRig 05-21-2009, 11:57 AM I've seached the shit out of this and haven't found crap....:flipoff2:
Wondering if I can use F250 TTB outer asseblies (from the ball joint out)
Looking to use srw hubs, brakes, and as much as I can. This 60 I just got is pretty stripped.....
Any info and links are appreciated.

If it's a dana 50 then yes.
Broke_as_a_joke 05-22-2009, 08:22 AM I have no personal expirience but I have read that if you put ttb dana 50 knuckles on a solid axle the camber is way out of wack, and I always though that it would make sense. Just one more thing to think about
sne97hd 05-22-2009, 08:38 AM When I replaced my Dana 50 TTB with a ball joint Dana 60, I basically used everything from the spindle out. I did not use the knuckles, as I think they are a little different, but I'm not positive.
fordnut 05-22-2009, 09:05 AM spindle out your good
JohnToyRatRig 05-23-2009, 08:23 AM Thanks guys,
That answers my question
So I'll just use everything except the knuckles
Should be cheap and easy to find at the yard
Alot cheaper than buying new srw wheels hubs...
mustange70 05-24-2009, 10:52 PM IIRC i think the spindle has a different bolt pattern, the knuckle is different, and the u-joint is smaller.
PsychoworkS 05-25-2009, 05:42 PM The spindle has the same bolt pattern but does not sit into the knuckle as far. The machined boss on the spindle is shorter.
It is not recommended to use the ttb spindle on a D60 knuckle, but lots of people do. There is a pic around somewhere that shows the difference.
JohnToyRatRig 05-26-2009, 06:57 AM Ok, So ttb brakes work on the 60 knuckles, right?
And IF ttb wheel hubs work with 30 spline outers....
Then what wheels bearing setup do you use if you did ttb wheel hubs with the d60 spindles?
barebackjake 05-26-2009, 08:50 AM the back of the spindle isnt as long so the seal for the front shafts dosnt get pushed up against the spindle. i had to run a D50 spindle on my f250 when i put the D60 on for a couple weeks since i boogered up one of the 60 spindles getting it out and that was the only diff i could see. like said above the 50 knuckles are a differnt angle too
82F100SWB 05-26-2009, 08:59 AM 50 and 60 = same wheel hub and bearings. It isn't a TTB part that works, it is the same one.

The shorter spindle should work OK on his rig. In 96' the knuckle shoud have the caliper support cast into it instead of the seperate bracket like the older trucks use.
PsychoworkS 05-26-2009, 10:57 AM There is a great writeup here:

I still am a firm believer that they are different as far as the back of the spindle goes.
Here is a picture of both spindles and another write up:
