Water Temp Wire??

Well I got my blazer running. Now I want to hook up the water temp guage.. It's never been hooked up so I figure while I am at it I will hook it up. I like to know how warm it is running exspecially a 400 SB.

My question is what color is the Temp Guage wire under the hood? It is a 77 K-5. I seen the guage go all the way up so I shut it off and looked for wires grounding out. I found a green wire.. Would this be the wire to hook up?

I have a SB400 and I have a 180 temp thermostat in it, the book calls for a 195 but I don't like that. I have a guage in the head on the drivers side and the temp coming out of the motot at that point never gets over 200 and that's pulling a load.. Average is 190..
Make sure that you keep that motor cool, the heads on a 400 like to crack when you over heat them..

Appreciate it man! I will be glad to have the temp guage working. I hate not knowing what is going on. I need to pick up a cooler thermostat as well.
