Tried to do a temp install of my crossover tie-rod. Seems the taper isn't deep enough. Can't get the castle nut tight enough to install the cotter pin :shaking:
So, anywho, I get it in place and obviously I need a pickup oilpan and also need to modify my exhaust. The exhaust is only 1 1/2" above the tie-rod. With the center dump manifold, looks like it'll have to have 3 bends to clear the tie-rods.
I'm thinking it might be better to use the rear dump manifolds, then i would only need 2 slight bends to get around the tie-rods.
What did the rest of you guys do for the exhaust?

Headers, but that brings a whole new set of problems. Once I get the cut'n turn finished, the exhaust will have to be redone again.

I'm looking for used headers. But I don't think it will solve my problem, only cause new ones as they were not designed around the Dana 60, soa, and a crossover.

Move the axle forward. Better aproach angle and no clearance issues. Problem solved.:flipoff2:

That will also get all of my links parallel. But not until later in the year..if it happens this year.:homer:

Lift it till everything clears.
And put rollers on the roof for when it just flops over.:shaking:

I am four linked and have headers, they are real close to the frame and starter but no issues with the links. mine are triY they are a lot smaller than the reg headers. Not a very good picture but you can see the pan hard bar and the header end.

Move the motor back :D
rear dumps are "rare" and expensive. So unless you have a couple sets kicking around, maybe not the "best" choice.
You could always have some flanges custom cut and make your oun headers that go wherever you want :flipoff2:

Who's arms do you have? or are they home made?
Somebody once told me to grind the nut down a bit. :shaking:
My waggy arm is milled and tapered to get the nut to fit. Post a pic.
