Doug.....!!!!! I was honking the shit outta my horn as you were exitng the waterfall..... obviously you didnt hear me. I was trying to catch ya and see where you guys were heading.
Dude, we got stuck in a four hour "GD" line at that sucker behind a ton of Hummers! They would not proceed without their designated spotter, and we could nt go back b/c traffic piled up behind us. The waterfall was a cool obstacle though.

Oh BTW, does anyone know what happened lastnight at the "sand dragstrip"..? I hear there was a pretty bad accident.

They popped a bead at the end of the course tring to turn. We regret this happened but thats why there is no night wheeling. Very poor judgement on their part.

Other wise a great weekend. Some bad weather gave us a scare but did cool things off and settled the dust in the camp ground. Thanks to all that came for the last weekend it was a blast and I think everyone pushed their rig to the limit. Can't wait to see the pics. See ya on the Trail.

Yes, very unfortuante.... but I am so glad no one was killed. I heard from a friend the driver was not seatbelted and neither was my friend who was riding in the middle (not too smart, but the alcohol didnt help)....

Yeah, i remember seeing you. BTW, check out the hummer group that was holding us up for 4 hours at the waterfall. They had ONE spotter for 14 rigs, and wouldn't let anyone else help spot them! Notice the horrible standing place the spotter has chosen BELOW the stiff ass H2 that's lifting a tire. I mentioned the inherent danger of standing in such a location and was met with "we've never had problems with it in the past". Well, fuck, it only takes one roll to change that.

Flea and I seemed to miss everyone. We passed the "shortbus" group on Aggie, took the normal Aggie exit and headed back to camp. Ran into Crystal and the fellow who rolled. Ate lunch and hooked up with Jeremy and his crew for a run up Waterfall (Video to follow)

It was weird; we rolled into Waterfall exit.. and saw nobody. Nada; not a single rig. It was like twilight zone. Waterfall was NEVER empty...

I went up 1st; and Jeremy quickly followed. We walked back to spot the 2 Cherokees and BANG.. short buses everywhere. Hummers to the left of me, H2's to the right.. H3's to the center.. Every damm lawyer; real estate agent and bald divorced dude from Houston must have made the trip to the rocks ..

Jeremy had to get back to camp pronto so I could not stay and watch the hilarity as 20 some odd Hummers "Discovered" they were on the bad end of a drop off into a pool of water..

Any poop, sorry I did not wheel with you fellows.. I headed back to Mason; hit a shower and watched the events at the rodeo arena..

Well, we had a blast other than the storm, that was a bitch for sure!! First trip and I sure wish it hadn't been the last, that place was awesome!! We had just come UP the Waterfall and were on top by the fenceline when the Hummers came through. We thought hard about following to watch just for the entertainment value, but thought otherwise of it. Ended up with 2 broke anyway, so it was all good. Thanks tot he Redneck Yacht Club for letting us hang out with them and showing us around!!!

its actually a tradition to hang a rig from that tree - Looks like Shane's (proprietor, manager, land leasee, whatever you wanna call him) Russ' (#1 Krocks supporter who's there every chance he gets) and dunno on the white one, but it has a krocks logo on the hood, so affiliated in some way I am sure...

the white cj is Randy Kruse's and his father was the lease holder all three of the guys that got there rigs in that pick are the greatest people to wheel with in the world

That tree WAS tradition, not like it was some beautiful peace of nature.... It was a half dead natural RTI ramp. It was right in the middle of camp, hundreds of people flopped their rigs on it. :flipoff2:

Yes I am. It has been doing great, he has been beating on it pretty good and it is holding up great. I dont think he has had any issues with it at all. It did everything at Katemcy that he took on. It does really well on our trails here in NM too. He rolled it over backwards pretty hard last year and dented up the hood and put a small dent in the radiator but it held up great. You guys built it really well.

Yes I am. It has been doing great, he has been beating on it pretty good and it is holding up great. I dont think he has had any issues with it at all. It did everything at Katemcy that he took on. Thats good to here, it looks like yall had a good time and took it to its full potential. Maverick is a great fabricator, he has a low rider tj now that he built, and he also has done most of the designing and fab work on my chassis as well. Both do great.

Yup, nice to meet you as well. I had a great time and thought it was cool, some really nice terrain. It was a place I had wanted to go to for a few years now and this was the perfect excuse to head out there. If you ever come out to the central NM area to wheel be sure to look me up.

Good to hear!! I would love to make it out that way. Don't know if the chile challenge is around that area but I would love to make that one next year.........who knows. Would be one long, LONG haul

Does anybody know the owner or builder of this rig??? My friend noticed he was still running an ag (tractor supply) steering ram. Same as my buddy but my buddies doesn't turn very well. However this guys never binded or snuffed at all. We were wondering what pump or what he did to make it turn that much better. If it helps my buddy is just running a stock 350. This guy probably had a 6.0 or something------------Kyle

I would like to leave a note, just like everyone else has, concerning how much katemcy, and the efforts of its organizers have meant to me. I have been no other place that brings people together like krocks did, complete strangers comming together and sharing their stories, time, and sweat with each other all in the name of a good time. In fact, i had a guy come up to me, while i was sitting and staring at 3 out of 4 sheered knuckle studs on my 'yota, and not only offer me his spare axle for a damn good price, but he continually offered to help me wrench if i needed the help. I had another guy stay with my rig and my crew as we uprighted my 4runner after i flipped it on baby hughies crack....for two hours!!! (given his jeep was tied to my runners cage holding it right side up while we drained the cylinders of the oil that had found its way in there)

Long story short, i just want to show my appreciation for Shain, Randy, and the rest of the crew that made Katemcy a place that i will never forget. Not just because of the terrain, but mainly because of the people!

I don't know him, but I talked to him for a bit on Saturday. Those were the sweetest tube "doors" I've ever seen. They had an air ram in the ends of them that slid into the front of the cage to keep it closed w/ some hatch lift actuators to hold them up when open.
