OK, how do I change the tailshaft on a turbo 400? I just wasted mine, and have another one that has the quadratrac tailshaft. I want to change the shafts out. Please help, I don't want to spend the $500 on the rebuild.

This can be done at home but beware the transmission has to be disassembled and put back together. IF you have never worked on one before I wouldn't recomend trying it your self unless you are extremely mechanically minded there are a lot of parts and some of them you'll need a manual to get back in the right place (check balls in the valve body for instance).

I woudl try calling a few trans shops you should be able to find one that would change your shafts for you for a reasonable cost, without a warranty of course.
