Im wondering if the barrel from a usp Tactical will replace the standard usp barrel?

Midway calls out the 40s&w Std usp as a 4.250" length and the tactical is called out at 4.90" (both 40 S&W)

whachoothink?

Not 100% positive but I seem to recall a friend did this and came to the conclusion the only real difference was the threads on the tac

and the o-ring.

i am pretty sure that a tactical barrel will fit in a standard usp though. i have a tactical .45 and a standard .40 so i can't check for sure.

Yes, the barrel will fit. I don't know what your situation is, but buying the Tactical is always cheaper than buying a standard USP and adding the parts.

The USP 45 and 40 tactical come with: raised sights, threaded o-ringed barrel, and match trigger. Get it from a LE Dealer and it'll come with 3 standard cap mags. The older Tacticals came with a black canvas pistol bag.

mine came with a woodland camo soft case. that was 10+ years ago though.

I've heard the match trigger. . . isn't. Thoughts?

You're right, some had tan/camo/black canvas bags. The Match trigger is much better than the standard USP trigger, but by no means is it a "match" trigger. I'm used to combat triggers, so it doesn't bug me. Learning to pull the trigger correctly will make you a much better shooter than getting a "tuned" 2lb 1911 trigger.
