: Fojv?

I would really like to get involved with FOJV, but beyond the letter-writing campaigns and petitions, what else can I do? I signed up on FOJV.org, and it isn't too active over there, and I've read about 6 pages back here, but I can't find too much.
Is fundraising still needed? I have a friend who does stickers/t-shirts (has a vinyl business) and is willing to help out by making stuff at a really low price to help with fundraising, but I wasn't sure if that was needed...

are there any clean-ups being thought of? we were at the buttes this weekend and the amount of crap lying around made me think about the calico clean-ups that have been done, and I was wondering how to go about doing one for the buttes and/or hammers.

I'm relatively new to crawling, and I spent time at the Hammers for the first time for KOH, and fell in love with it, so I'm eager to try to do anything I can to help save it!

sorry if I'm being a total newb and missed this somewhere else, but I can't help thinking I'm not the only one wondering how exactly to get involved...
thanks, and hope everyone has a great rest of the week!

Jess,
Thanks for your enthusiasm and desire to get involved. Right now I know that just staying on top of answering the call to submit comments whenever they arise is important and it's great to hear you're already doing that.

Next, getting involved with FOJV is a great thing as although we are not exactly a field of experts in the politcal and historical land use game, we are a group that can be called on by any of the major groups that are battling to keep JV open. FOJV is the "boots on the ground" asset and in many ways is under-used by the orgs that realy could use our help effectively.

As I have been out of the loop on FOJV meetings lately, I am not sure where things stand as of today. I too visit the FOJV site weekly but have not caught what's on the "upcoming" calendar of things to do. I am glad you posted up as it is easy to forget that if we don't make noise, we can easily be forgotten...

All of that said, have the other orgs attempted to use our diverse talents and intense passions lately???

There really just isn't anything going on right now.
AND ITS DRIVING ME NUTS!!

We are waiting for the Marines next move. FOJV knew we were going
to be running into a long dry spell in regards to activity (the process is very slowwwww.) But even with that it appears as though the Marines have fallen behind thier original time frame.

Now that we are heading into the summer there probably won't be any meetings or clean ups scheduled in JV (although the night run season is in full force!) There is at least one annual clean up event, and every time we go out there we pack out more than we bring in (I wonder if old rusty nails are worth much at a recycler?)

Anyway Jess(e?) you probably don't have access to the Steering Committee thread at FOJV, that is where most of the activity is right now over at that site. When we hear more, or need to get information out, it will be posted here as well as that site.

Thanks for the intrest
Rick

awesome, thanks for letting me know what's going on w/ everything. I'll keep checking and doing what I can in the meantime :)

and it's just Jess, short for Jessica, Jake Wright's g/f, idk if we've met at any comps, I know I've met Dustin, but I doubt he'd remember, he's a busy guy, lol.
