What's the best trimmer to slam out about 1500 .223 cases? (thanks Doc)
I've got an L.E. Wilson case trimmer and one of those five dollar Lee case trimmers that go on a drill. They both suck for trimming more than about a hundred cases at a time.
I've looked at the Giraud trimmer but for four hundred bucks its out of my reach. I've also heard both good and bad about the Possum hollow trimmer.
So what do ya think? Let me know what you use and what you wish you had

Hate to tell you this but 1500 isn't that many.
Unless you are shooting HP, BR, or similar you wont trim every time. Even then probably not. Most likely once every 6+ loads.
The little Lee unit with a cutter and holder and the center piece that limits travel, works great.

Now doing 10-20-50k get the Dillon or Gracey unit and call it good.

Just set up a Dillon 1050 in .223, and add their case trimmer to the press.

It's only a total investment of... *caculator keys tapping* ... about $1.40 per case you need to trim. :flipoff2:

A Giraud will do about 10 cases a minute on slow speed. I just trimmed about 6k of .223 and .308 on a Forster manual trimmer. With five minutes of fab I made a power adapter to use it in a battery screwdriver but I did the 6 by hand first. It's not that bad, but it isn't fast. :)

The most I could do was about 200 a night before my hand got tired.

I like my Dillon trimmer because it sizes and trims at the same time. I`ve used the Gracey also and its a great trimmer.

I just chucked up my cordless Milwaukee drill to my RCBS manual trimmer to make the trimming easier. However, chamfering the inside and outside of the lip is the time-consumer.

get a chamfer that fits in your drill and ziptie the trigger on

I use a regular countersink bit and did the zip tie. :D

What about the outside of the lip?
My outside chamfer tool won't fit in my drill.

I found inside and outside deburs that are threaded. Inteded to go into an aluminum or wood handle.
