Here is another set from this german guy "Benno"
http://www.halle15.com/Unimog_Axle_s/404/404.html
last time I checked earlier in the year, the price was about the same, I'll have to check again.
Ok I checked with him in Dec, it was 250 euros which was 316 usd, now its 353.7569 usd
And from the looks of the ones you linked on ebay, they have set screws in the pic so that leads me to believe they are held on with a notch and a set screw.
From Benno's site: "There are two ways to mount the set on your axle. 1. you can use the 2 headless srews to hold the flat flange. or 2. you can use the countersounk bolt in the middle of the flange. But then you have to cut a threat into your pinion shaft."

I dont care for the looks of that weld on the link you posted, seems to me like a bad spot for a weld. :)

I purchased the set off Ebay. Great fit and finish, but.... they said 10 days, their door to mine in Nor Cal. Three months and a Pay Pal dispute later they showed up. By the way, the drive flange is firmly held by two opposed set screws (red lock tite).

Have any of you ran across a good looking pinon conversion for a 406 or U series?

Ditto. There's a few closeups of the mod in my 'Bubba Hyde' thread.
