Found this "gem" yesterday while out for a bike ride. Asking 3 at a stealer. Body looked "not thaaaat bad", had some typical skurry steering to get crossover to work, no BL, no blocks, new 35's, winch (off name brand), manual trans and I doubt any lockers. I didn't bother to look long as Akmad the salesman was coming my way.
For no reason at all I am thinking of offering 2K for it. I have zero places to wheel here and little desire to wheel again while I live her. No tow rig, just a bomb around town/country rig and impress da ladies. :flipoff2:

Get underneath and look under the bed, inside the windshield cowl, wheelwells, look it over for rust really good. Scouts are very rust prone. What motor does it have?

I know they are rust prone I lived in Kasnas City when Mechanos got his and saw it duringit's rebuild/replace all the sheetmetal phase.

The door gap has me a little concerned. On the front gap it's tight at the top and open on the bottom that could suggest the front body mounts sagging (or gone). But, then I saw the gap at the rear of the door that is open at the top and tight at the bottom. So, the mounts might be ok and the door is alignment is out of whack. For $3k, that tub had better be damn near perfect. Since it's in primer, make sure it isn't a Mech special with all the rust through puckied over to slick it up.
Oh, and tell Akmed, "if you want to sell this thing, go back inside and let me look at it. When/if I want to talk to you, I'll come get you." :flipoff2:

Akmed wanted to take my bike on trade for it he said. I laughed and muttered for him to F off. Like I said no use for it, but it'd be a cool around town beater. I will check it out tonight on the way home and get a look at the drivetrain.

When I go back to visit my relatives in Western PA I ponder moving back.. and then my mind wanders to where I'd wind up with a Scout kinda like that - a pavement pounder mall-crawler that's fun to drive with the top off in the summer.
Park it in the winter to avoid the salt monster.
Is it in primer, or just a flat paint / crap cell-phone pic?

That winch looks like it's ready to fall off.
Is it attached to the stock bumper?

Dunno, will get more details this week with more detailed/crappy blackberry pics to boot.
Looks like its spring over, hard to tell for sure from the pics though. Check out the quality of the work done on the lift, it could be really sketchy like alot of them, if it is, and you find alot of other sketchy shit I'd pass. You've gotta consider the amount of work YOU'LL have to put into it to make it safe to drive even just on the roads. From the pics it doesn't look bad, except for the door alignment like Mechanos mentioned. Anxious for more details/pics....
