does anyone have any tips on getting an intake manifold off a 304?, it doesn't want to readily come off, even after a few "love taps" with the 3 pound hammer

hit it front to back or back to front, with a soft faced mallet or dead blow hammer.

obviously it helps if all the bolts are out!

I take a thin puddy knife and break teh front seal, this nomally does the trick.

when we pulled doug's intake off his 302 I stuck a crow bar in the manifolds and stood on it. I'll stop by after work and show you how its done.

The mallet back and forth works great, also keep in mind that manifold is about 75lbs. So it may not seem like it is free when it is. <IMG SRC="smilies/jeep2.gif" border="0">

i got it off, and its an edlebrock intake, so its a WHOLE LOT lighter than the stock one, i just popped the front seal and it came right off
