Ok, flame away, if this has already been asked. I rarely come to the tow rig section so I apologize in advance for my asshattery.

My step dad has a '06 Dodge 3500 CTD with a flat bed. He just bought a set of Interco M16 295/70R17 tires for it. He has the leveling kit for the truck, so height clearance isn't an issue, he just wants to know if they will stick out on the rear.

My roommate has an '07 Dodge 3500 CTD with a 5.5" lift and 35" Xterrains, with the 1" wheel spacers in the rear, and they don't stick out but maybe a 1/2" on each side...so I have had dealings with this before, but not with a metric tire and not trying to keep the stock width.

So...the real question is, does anyone run this size tire on a Dodge dually without wheel spacers and if so, do you put any weight on the truck that would cause the tires to bulge and rub?

Thanks in advance and anyone who wants to flame me can :flipoff2: :D

If it helps at all in your calculations, an online calculator says those tires come in at a 33x11.50.

Run 295/70R17 Nitto Terra Grapplers on a 2003 3500 DRW. With 2 in spacers it sticks out about a 1.5 in to 2 in. You can NOT run these tires without spacers and not have them touch when loaded. You'll need to run spacers no matter what or you will have blow out after blow out when the truck is loaded. If you want some photos please let me know.

Ok, thanks. I think he is going to go with a different tire, because he doesn't want them to stick out from under the bed. (I said get spacers bc it would look badass, but he is old and just doesn't understand :D )

For the record, the M16 is a good looking tire...not sure how they will last or anything, but they look kickass. I think they would be really cool in a 40" or 44" size...the tread resembles a Bogger, but isn't directional, which would be a plus.

Anyway, thanks again, I figured it needed spacers but he was adamant about me asking someone else.

Later!
