BLM has finally arrived at a point in thier South Fork American River "Community Based Planning Project" where the area known as the Jergens Trail, located in the "Pine Hill Ecological Preserve, Salmon Falls Unit",T11N- R9E, will become the topic for future uses of that area. Anyone truely intrested in particapating in making decisions on wether this becomes a hiking only trail or will be multiuse is urged to attend and politely particapate.
The first in a series(probally 6 and at least 2 feild trips) is set to begin at 6:30pm Thursday October 18th and the second to be at 6:30pm Tuesday October 23rd at the ODD FELLOWS HALL in Coloma, Ca., located 8 miles north of Placerville on Hwy.49.
We need people to attend every meeting to show a united cause and be credible. You can contact the Folsom ofice of BLM at 916-985-4474 or at www.ca.blm.gov/folsom. (http://www.ca.blm.gov/folsom.) or me, Vince, at 530-957-0974

Vince, it's incredibly hard for me to get out on weeknights but I want to do whatever I can to help. What would you suggest we do if there is no way we can make the meetings? I'll do it, now. Thanks.

If Kevin goes I will go. and yes Thank you Vince. Can't say I will be surprised if the gates are shut and locked permanantly. Is there anybody available to run down and do a quick clean up before Thursday?

The Odd Fellows Hall is located directly across from the little white school house on the sharp 90 degree turn just as you enter Coloma from the north.

Finally arrived? Hell, they have been working up to this for more than a year, and though attending now is certainly better than nothing, waiting to attend, if anyone claims to have been doing this, was a BAD idea.
That group has been meeting for a year, establishing relationships and STANDING. It is still definitely worth attending, but don't hope to step up and have an immediate impact...

I estimate more meetings -- this is a parcel that gets managed jointly, and BLM is just one of the parties... we're in for a tough fight on this, I fear.
We need people to attend every meeting to show a united cause and be credible.
Amen -- let's get organized and establish a solid presence... but it HAS to be a presence that uniformly lasts for the duration of the planning process. Frankly, with few attending the meetings to date, we're playing catch-up ball...
..but it is still worth catching up.
