Finished cutting the front, still have to clean up the edge a little but more and weld caps on the bumper and sliders. the rear is halfway cut on one side, need to finish that up tomorrow night. (hence the small tires in back)

suspension specs-
OME 764 front, 1" spacer, 9207 Ranchos
Rovertym 285 3" rears, 2" spacer, 9005 shocks (too short now)
going to extend the rear trailing arms a few inches to help with door clearance.

you can see where we cut (my pops in photo) in the front, about 3/4" beyond where the front flare ends all the way around, a little bit more towards the bottom. in the rear we just took off to the edge of the flare (where it ends) plus a little but more.

anyone have any ideas on how much to extend the trailing arms with 5" of lift to get it back to somewhat the stock location?

thanks

adam
PS- a plasma cutter is THE SHIT for cutting fenders!!! cleaned up with an angle grinder it looks great

anyways, here are the pics.

Not bad.

Made my days sill re-inforcement/slider/air-tank prep and front shock mount/spacer install seem wimpy. Thanks.

this did not all happen in one night! this is the 1 week checkpoint after numerous 2hr sessions at my buddys shop! only working after hours at a professional shop has its advantadges and disadvantages, a disadvantage being the little time you have to work, only about 2 hrs each night!

Nice work...

Cutting your panel work is addictive - I got carried away a few weekends ago... Safe to say my job is no where as neat as yours - I didn't want it to look out of sync with the crappy panels on the rest of the Rangie.:D

Couple of questions:

How big are those swampers?
Have you run on the 764's or did they just go in for this mod? How much weight are you planning to hang off the front? If you have run them up front how do you rate them? I am currently looking for a heavier spring to carry my shiny new 8274 and bodged bumper - the 764's are currently the front runner for front replacement.
Is your 1" spacer to level or for tyre clearance?

Cut away some more for me! Its almost as much fun watching other people butcher their trucks...:D

Q78-15, 35.5x10.5

they used to be in the rear and they worked well there, will have to see in the front.

How much weight are you planning to hang off the front?
RoverTym heavy ass front bumper (all fully boxed 1/4" and 3/16" plate) plus a Warn HS9500i, may need taller front springs once the lift goes on, but right now i would say it has about .5" nose down to the front, but i think it will level once the rear springs are broken in.

If you have run them up front how do you rate them?
see above

Is your 1" spacer to level or for tyre clearance?
increased clearance. eventually may end up moving the 1" spacer to the rear and running no spacers in the front (for 4" overall lift) cause there is a good amount of clearance right now.

i will be taking more pics during the day tomorrow, post again tomorrow night.

I don't think that 764's are the ideal choice for the front, imho.

I would use 762's or bearmach's for the the weight of a mild steel fabbed bumper and winch. I am putting 763's in my rear, and leaving the 762's up front. 300lb per in, and MUCH better on the side hills.
