: ERoCC Championships...just got back.
350 Samurai 09-08-2002, 05:45 PM Just got back from the ERoCC Championships and they were better than ever. I met a lot of people from the board.
We got a little surprise Sunday morning when Mike Shaffer and Shannon Campbell showed up to check out the event. They ran a few of the obstacles as an exhibition and I think that they were impressed.
I took a few pics, most are from the Legends class, since I was rooting for the team of Spaceghost and Bigdude, who as a matter of fact, won the championship in the Legends class, while Chris Durham won a narrow victory over Ken Shupe.
Check out these pics: http://www.rattlerock.com/ERoCC%20Championships.html
rugburn 09-08-2002, 05:47 PM Congrats to the champs!!!!!
Way to go Mike and BigDude!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:D :p  ;)
fabricator 09-08-2002, 06:42 PM Yep, Shupe made a good spotter for
Shafer at the very end of the day.
Cambell may need to keep a truck load of ifs parts if he is
going to compete with that machine,
although it is one of the nicest machines I've seen, lot of money spent on that ride.
IndyCJ 09-08-2002, 07:43 PM Congrats SpaceGhost and Bigdude!
So does this mean that SG won the series championship in the Legends Class?

That's what it means.
They got a big 5 foot trophy to show for it too.
Lance 09-08-2002, 09:13 PM congrats, spaceghost!
Sounds like Shupee had a rough weekend. :(
EasyXJ 09-09-2002, 04:59 AM Congrats to Spaceghost!!!!!!! Just goes to show what a good machine can do with an even better driver and spotter.
The Campbell rig was pretty interesting to look at. What did Full Throttle break when he did the wedge roll. Was it just a front axle? We left right when the Cadillac busted the front cv. Can't wait to be out there next year:bounce2:

Thats for sure! They did a awesome job for their first comp on a new buildup! That judging the first three comps didn't help did it? Congrats, next year will be soooooooooooo much fun!
madmarx 09-09-2002, 07:19 AM That's right, I forgot to mention that. Dennis rolled it out of the garage 1 week before the competion...
snobrder 09-09-2002, 08:17 AM Very good job Spaceghost and Bigdude. Everyone in the Legends class kept it close right down to the wire. Next year should be a blast.
Got you some SG and 'dudeski ! Good work !

He broke the same axle as the day before, left front, and then they got him out, and he was backing up to turn and broke the right front. he had a rough weekend.
the cadi was nice to look at.
ChevotaSS 09-09-2002, 02:06 PM ALL I CAN SAY IS WOW!!!. I got back from EROCC at 11:30 last night. this was my 1st time attending one of these. A freind and i trekked down from michigan to watch. took us 9 hours to get there on friday and only 7 to get home. i hate dayton and cinci friday rushhour traffic. My hat goes off to TrailKeepers. They put on one hell of an event. I was very very impressed how it went. No big problems and it ran real smooth. even when vehicles broke or got stuck on an obstacle for over an hour. Congrats to spaceghost and bigdude.. im guessing you got that radiator leak fixed. last i saw it wasnt looking good in the parking lot. I cant wait for next year im actually sitting here now and debating on if i want to do some mods to mine so i can compete next year. i like having a trail truck.. but the comps are just way to cool to pass up. I might just have to challenge spaceghost next year in legends. anyone wanna trade some 39 swampers for 37mtrs???????? GREAT JOB TO ALL THE COMPETITORS. I HAD A BLAST AND WILL BE THERE NEXT SEASON.
badassjeepguy 09-09-2002, 11:02 PM congrats mike! sorry i missed it, had a few bugs to work out with mine.... ended up at summit, met shafer and cambel..... sweet rides......... my rig? i know your lurkin TROY, it is absolutely sweet........ it was nice to be in the saddle and on the rocks again!

But Pink, U make a BIG difference! Now go check the video, in the Cruiser section. U'll notice I was concerned that you might fall off those rocks, hehehehehe.

After watching ChevotaSS's video I renew my position that the spotter should get the bigger trophy. Big Dude was doing some serious work, and watching Dar chuck that HUGE boulder out of the way of Ron's cruiser made me cringe almost as much as his super man bail down the rock face.

4 bars of putty junk. 1 tube alumi-seal. About 1000 packets of black pepper donated byt he Morley Baptist Church. Never leaked a drop through the last 2 obstacles
The pepper addition with plenty of supervision :D

:D Spotters make a difference????? Never.
rkcrawl 09-10-2002, 04:26 PM I made it back with my sorry broke ass heep... :D
Mike glad to hear that the radiator held up and that you pulled it off. Congrats!!
I'll be back next year and if I can ever get my junk to stay together.. I will be in the hunt. (Serious plans in the works now baby :D). It WILL stay together or I WILL have the parts.
Shaffers rig is SWEET!
Gotta say thanks to Rob Ellis, Broncorob for coming out and spotting for me. He did a great job, I just wish we could have made sunday. Aside from a bad line on the fourth obstacle(timed out), then the breakage on the 5th we were doing pretty good.
Carnage:
Ripped the wrap arm off again (this started it all)
Broken rear drive shaft
broken front superwinch hub
powersteering box cap (I did hit it on something :( )
passenger front brake line
rear passenger brake ebrake
upper passenger rear shock mount
rear springs wrapped to hell and back
front spring bent
Tub is seriously bent up. Cowl on passenger side is toast.
Upside:
I had fun! Made it further then last time, and when we weren't having problems, we were doing good. Met some more PBB folks which was cool. And I now have plans in the works for getting the rig setup (seriously) for the competition. No more working out the kinks and getting seat time at the comp!
