I was out with my buddy in his 96 Discovery. We were on the trail when the electrical problem appeared. I noticed that when he went over some of the obstacles (rocks) his lights would flash. Now, when he turned off the engine he could not restart it (no crank no ntohing) This could only be fixed by disconnecting the battery for 3 to 4 minutes and than it would start no problem. Sounds like it was going into a theft mode to me and when we reset it by disconnecting the battery it corrected the problem. Happened twice the same way-lights flash and than nothing on the start.
Thanks

The sensor that cuts off the juice if you tip over thinks you've...well, tipped over. Common issue.
You fixed it just like you are supposed to (if pushing the big button on the sensor doesn't bring it back to life).
Enjoy your space-age ride ;)

Are you talking about the button on the firewall (paasenger side) that has a rubber covering on it? We kept hitting that button but it never worked. Should that button be up or down if it is tripped? Is there any other solution or thoughts if this problem persists. Also, is it a tipping issue or a theft issue?
thanks

It's a rollover sensor. I think it cuts off electrical to the fuel pump, as well as other cut-offs. Keeps major fire hazards from appearing if you roll over in an accident.
