Does anyone wheel at Haspin Acres in Laurel,Indiana? I have been there once and loved it. I plan on going again this summer and was just curious if any one from the site goes there?

I've been more times than I can count .

It's been about 2 years since I had a completed rig so the last dozen times it's been on ATV's with my kids.

It's a fun place , and if you look around you can find some challenging stuff.

We go there fairly often and love the place. It just get very dusty when its dry and one slimey mess when it rains. In between those its a blast.

Yes I've been there. I am so old I remember when it opened. I won a lot of AMA moto cross races there back in the day.

I have been down there to the Fat Boys annual ground hog day run to support that group or to a Toys for Tots event but other than that I haven't wheeled there in a while.

Say hey to Pete for me next time your there.

I just found a set back that is going to keep me from going until later this summer. Have holes in my radiator. Now I gotta go to the boneyards and find a cheap radiator for my 95'YJ

We were there last week. Find out where Devils Backbone is, then there is a fairly steep trail to the right to go down to the bottom of the hill. Once to the bottom drive past the bottom entrance to Devils Backbone and the waterfall trail is right there. About the only rock section we went on. I would wait till later in the day to do Devils Backbone...;)

I have been going to Haspin for many years now and if your looking for rocks you won't find many there. If your afraid of Mudd then its not the place for you. When its dry out its a dust bowl. We love the place because its close to us and has a good variety of trails. As for a trail guide that would be a interesting task since there are really no trials that you can run start to finish they just seem to run everywhere in every direction.
I do plan to be there Labor day weekend.

we are going to head up there the 11th of september for the weekend. I was digging around for a decent map of the place and found this:

thought it might help some people out a little.

Thats about the best map you are going to find. It was put together with gps coordinates from a bunch of us that are regulars there. The 2 main things to remember it there is really no marked trails just trails going everywhere. For the most part there is be a main trail some where close to the highest point in all areas. If you do want to attempt to follow a planned trail we usually just follow the property line fence row and that can make for a decent several hour ride. Haspin isn't the most challenging trails but there are alot of obstacles that are fun its just finding them.

I was just there last weekend! I love the place. Except my poor ol' ZR2 is stock on All-Terrains and it didn't quite as good as it could. Did decent for what it is though.

This happens with All-Terrains and no grip.....

I was trying to go between the two mud holes, but obviously got too close to the right side.

Lost 4x4 after this. TCCM got wet (located in passenger side kickpanel) and wouldn't power the shift motor for the transfer case. I though it was the shift motor itself, but loss of my speedometer, outside thermometer and compass pointed towards TCCM. Good thing it dried out and everything is back to normal. I'll def be mounting it higher. Maybe in the glove box?

Been there a few times. Like Bronco75 said, it's either a mess or a dust bowl. For what it is, it's not bad. You'll have to keep your head on a swivel as the ATVs and dirt bikes zoom around a lot. Devil's Backbone is probably the hardest thing to do there, but it's not that bad, depending on the day.
