Broken frigging spring,

Last month on my first trip to the Rubicon, I thought I might have broken a front spring. Just as I came out of "Gate Keeper" my front left spring pack was making crazy sounds when flexed. I could not see a problem so I drove on, and the sound went away. The whole Rubicon (including the BOX!) two local wheeling trips later and a bunch of road miles, sure enough there is half of spring #2 in the front left pack poking out. Hmmm maybe and excuse to go coils in the front?! Na just slap in another spring for now, too much fall wheeling ahead to tear the rig down.

Arrrg one more thing to do.

Deep South Cruisers & Eskimo

Never even checked out “Chit-Chat”, I would but don’t have any extra time beyond what I already spend in Main 4x4 and Cruiser areas. Had no idea this was classed at Chit chat, just thought other Cruiser guys would be interested in how well the remaining CRUISER pack held up. :flipoff2:

9V, yes not the main spring but the one that is full length and wraps over the main.

Helocat.. I think you misunderstood.. I meant for 9V.. the kid of chit-chat... NOT you!! Sorry bout that helo!

My snapped rear main still allowed me to get home with the weight resting on the second leaf as well.... Just used straps to locate the axle f/r.

Oh got’cha yes I did misunderstand. It was meant for the wine sipping, rock stacking Rover guy. The spooky thing for me is I have been driving the snot of out this thing like this. We have had outstanding weather so I drive it every chance I get, and have opened it up a few times on the HW even. Good thing the rest of the pack is still working, for now!

Actually, I think he was liek 15 years old, so not only is he not wine-sipping, he's not stacking any rocks outside of his own driveway!!!!:D
