: Quick Dana 44-Dana 60 question

Will a stock Dana 60 Tie rod work for a Dana 44?

Im about to buy a dana 44 for my other project and it is missing the tie rod.
I have a spare D60 tie rod after my high steer, I just want to know if it will fit.

and no I dont have the Dana 44 with me or I would just measure it.

you should be able to get enough length out of the d60 rod, and they use the same tapers/diams for the tre.

um... depending on year, maybe. early 44s use smaller TRE's. the only knuckles that will accept a 60 TRE are on 10 bolts.

Someone used a D44-10bolt tie rod on the D60 I just picked up so I would expect you could go the other way...

The Dana 60 tie rod is about 2 inches shorter than the 10 bolt or Dana 44.
