I have a 77 scout terra II. It has a D 44 F&R, with a rebuild 304 and a T-19 tranny. I was thinking about putting in a cummins turbo diesel and swaping out the tranny for a nv4500? Is there anything i need to know about the engine mounts and will a 6.7 ltr fit in the engine compartment?

I'd go with the 4bt, but keep us all updated on this build. Good Luck.:smokin:

If you need to ASK if the 6.7 will fit, your over your head already! :shaking:

Start with something easy. Go to a 345/392. As others have stated, the 4bt is it if you really are hard up for a diesel. You could also pussy out like some of us and install a Chevy drivetrain. Just by the 6.7 question you asked, I doubt you have the skills though.

Don't discount the 3.9 4bd Isuzu.

6.7 with basic accessories: 1244 lbs

NV4500 Cast Iron Case with fluid: 250 pounds

NP205: 140 lbs

I can think of no better platform for a 1600 pound plus drivetrain then a Scout...

I've done two 4bt swaps into scouts. They are plenty of engine for a scout.

C'mon newbie, get real. What 6.7 ltr are you even talking about? If you really even have a Terra, go wheel it for a couple of years, meanwhile lurking in the shadows until you have enough basic knowledge to phrase a proper question. :shaking::shaking::flipoff2:

The OP hasn't been back since he started the thread, I don't think we need to worry about him anymore
