Well I finally have had enough of knocking the lower shock brackets off the axle. Since the 8.8 swap I've been doing more and harder rock runs and have had issues with the low hanging shock mounts.....

Last weekend...

Well I outboarded the shocks and raised the lower mounts...

The nice clean axle under the Jeep looks good to me!!!

Why didn't you just use the tried and true F250 shock towers? I have some pretty low mounts on my D44 which spends probably 90% of its life in the rocks and I've never ever ever ripped off a shock tab.

I see.....

-Binding/limited travel problems on articulation because of the way you mounted the shocks
-Shock tabs look like they could use more surface area on axle for welding (could be pics) but this may also explain why you are ripping off tabs
-Tires rubbing on the shocks just from little bumps, not even talking full compression of the shock and uptravel of the tire.

Do some more research and redo it unless you are fine with going backwards in capability. You had the right idea but the application just wrong. Sorry for the bad news. Good luck to you.

Great concept poorly executed.

Here's my project next weekend:
