I need to find a reliable place that wont charge you out the butt for tube. I have tried most ofd the steel yards here and they dont want to return your calls when they promise or they do a 200% markup! anyone know of any decient places that sell small quanitied of DOM tube?

Garland Steel charges about the same or less of any place online so that's the best that I've found and you can get any amount I ordered 25ft 1.75 x 1/4 and it cost a little less than 200 dollars. Which really isn't all that bad. Also it only takes them about 2 days to get it here which is also a bonus and it's right down the street from the shop.

I buy alot of tube and the cheapest place I have found is EMJ by downtown Dallas. The number is 214-741-1761. But dont call unless you are buying full sticks. And you will have to will call it.

What size do you need? diameter & wall?

For really short stuff, under 4', don't overlook places like Metal Mart Online (expensive, but price includes shipping and no cutting charges). www.metalmart.com

Good place down here in Austin. 2" 0.120" wall will run about $5 - $6/ft in small quanities plus a cutting charge. If you buy more than five sticks(100 ft), price will drop down to less than $4/ft.

Ben... what are you building with 0.250" wall... damn, that is some pretty thick tubing! I was thinking that price was way out of line, until I spotted the 1/4" wall! :)

Metal Mart is a fawking rip off...Check http://onlinemetals.com Price drops off significantly over 6'. Only $2.22/ft for 1.75 x .12 DOM...The catch is shipping. If your somewhere in the NW, then shipping wouldn't be to bad.

MT -- Darn good price from EMJ. I take it you drove up to Dallas to pick up? (Address is Austin, but they aren't down here). Even with 300', still pretty hard to pay for your time for a Dallas run vs. buying it from WestBrook.

RockRover -- OnLineMetals is a good source, too, for little stuff. Used to buy from Shiparo (??) but haven't seen their catalog in ages (not sure if they are still around). Oh, needed some bronze bushings... so Metal Mart cut 6 pcs, all 1" long... I just finished them to size, so I was happy!

What sucks... in the process of moving, so tossed all the "small stuff" (under 10') in the back of the truck and hauled it to the scrap metal place. :(

I just paid 1.67 a foot for 1.75 dom.120 wall tubing out in california. Bought about 160 feet. Im sure if you shop round you can find it for resonable prices.
