I am in desperate need of an axle conversion kit for a full width axle for an '77 FJ40. I need to fit an uncut Dana44 or Dana60 front axle and I cannot seem to find any spring hangar relocation kit/pkg. Does anyone have ( or know of a resouce ) that knows where I can obtain this? If you have measurements or designs, that too would be helpful. If you can manufacture one, could you e-mail the below address with the price on that?
Thank you,
Phillip Tupelu

Sorry Dude, I know of no-one that makes a kit for this.
It is common to outboard the short side hanger to make the front axle fit.
Avaalanche Engineering is making a "kit" for CJ's...you may want to shoot them an email.
Oh yeah, welcome...don't forget to check in above :flipoff2:

Thank you. I have already contacted Avalanche and they say they can't make amything without having the vihicle there to measure. I am searching high and low for something but I have had no luck yet.
P.S. How do I "check in above"?

geeezzz...newbies bashin newbies....
Welcome again to the board....despite a few obnoxious renegades, you've got a great resource here. (stran apparrently spends to much time reading the ChitChat section... ;) )
There is no "kit" for what you want. You can glean a ton of info from the links on my site and I'd also do a general search for SOA projects. Since you are converting to D44 or D60, much of whats in the Jeep or General or Scout boards will apply as well.
Perches are a breeze...custom or Dodge. (do a search for "dodge and perch") Cheap and easy to do. Your project will mimic many other SOA projects...set the axle and see where things line up.
Oh, and take lots of pics and notes and be the first with a tech article on my site on such a project! <subtle hint>
And your (2nd) official newbie welcome.... :flipoff2:
