Since I hadn't had a rifle that shot this caliber until about a year ago, I had assumed that this cartridge used only LR primers. This was bolstered by the fact that my Hornady book only shows LR primers for 7.62x39. While processing a batch of this brass for reloading tonight, I came across about a dozen RP cases that required SR primers. Upon checking, I discovered that 7.62x39 was manufactured with both Berdan and Boxer SR, and also Boxer LR. It's nice to learn something new. :)
