I had a hard time finding these trails and could not find many good directions, so here are directions to Die Trying, Cactus Ridge and Calamity in Montrose.
The mileage numbers were taken from a stock SUV, so I would imagine they are pretty accurate. It might be a little different with 44s :D.

1. From the intersection of 550 and Main (Hwy. 50) head West for 6.2 miles.

Note: Main will turn into Spring Creek as you head West. Stay on Spring Creek and do NOT turn South (left) on Hwy 90.

2. After you have traveled 6.2 miles, turn right on 58.75 and head North for 3.1 miles.

3. After you have traveled 3.1 miles, turn left on Kiowa and head West for 1 mile.

Note: Kiowa takes you West, but will curve back to the South and take you to Rim Rd.

4. After you have traveled 1 mile on Kiowa, turn right (West) on Rim Rd.

5. Once you are on Rim Rd. you will almost immediately see the large parking lot on the left. This is where most stop to unload and/or air down. This seems to be a good place to park tow rigs. Reset your odometer at this parking lot.

6. From the parking lot you will continue to travel West down the main dirt road (Rim Rd.) for 4.7 miles.

Note: This is where most people seem to have trouble. The main road is hard to lose, but there are many other roads that branch off of it. You will go over very rocky and bumpy sections, but nothing an SUV couldn’t make it through. The important thing is that once you drop into the gully, you will be about 4.7 miles from the main road and as you descend into the gully, you will take the road to the right.

7. After you have traveled 4.7 miles you will have just dropped down into a gully and you will turn right down another dirt road and head North for .2 miles.

8. You are now at Topless trail.

9. Continue down that same dirt road headed North for another .7 miles and you are at Die Trying.

10. Continue down the same dirt road headed North for another .3 miles and you are now at Cactus Ridge.

I don’t know where Calamity or Scratch and Dent is. Sorry…that’s all you get for free .
