So I have been searching aimlessly for a build thread where someone has swapped the 5.7 Hemi into a TJ and used the G-56 manual instead of the automatic transmission. FAIL! I can't find anything. I know Burnsville (and Dave McKaeg in specific) is famous for doing them (and those guys are awesome too... I took a tour of their shop back in Jan. and they really have done some amazing work) but have any of your guys cataloged any builds that I could use as reference as I begin mine?

Dan sells a kit to use that manual tranny behind the Hemi - give him a call and he should be able to help you.

That is great! I really was hoping to give Dan some business as he has been so good about answering questions on the phone, was kind enough to give me a tour of the shop and obviously runs a tight ship up there. This setup is going in a TJ so that kit should help tremendously too... thanks. Do you know if this kit includes everything that I will need at that price (such as motor mounts, radiator, fan, and the other supporting stuff?) I already have the whole drivetrain, computer, harness and all that nonsense as I have an entire wrecked 2006 Hemi Powerwagon that only had 14k on the clock that is the donor vehicle for the swap.

I still am interested in the original post point of this thread though: wanting to see if anyone had posted a thread on such a project because I know I always learn alot from seeing what other people do and what they say they would have done differently in build threads on this site.

Anyone have anything like this?

Otherwise I guess it is up to me to post it eh?

Dan is a great guy and a big sponsor for our charity event - Crawl 4 The Cure (http://www.crawl4cure.org). Honestly - I think he should be able to get you everything you need to do your swap and give you some insight as to how to go about it. BVOR has done literally hundreds of the Hemi swaps and he has been doing the manual for more than a year. In fact one of the guys in my club has a lwb TJ with a 6 speed manual behind a Hemi and it is an awesome rig.

If you call him at 952-890-3990 - ask for Dan and tell him that Dave from TCOR sent you. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

I have seen advertisements for the DVD but I didn't know what transmission they put in and haven't been able to find out. Do you know?

Automatic- the dvd isn't too bad, but much more detail would have been nice.

That's what I was figuring. Has anyone used the Burnsville manual kit? I am interested to see some pics before I call up and order.
