: Weekend PLANS - 6/13-14/09
RustoleumWhite 06-12-2009, 01:54 PM OK, I'm bored, and thought to try something new.
We always do the weekend REPORT, but how about weekend PLANS. What do you THINK your going to accomplish this weekend.... then we can compare it to Monday's Weekend Report and see what actually DID get accomplished :D
for me, probably nothing IH related. Other than to probably move some of my IH crap out of the way to hopefully get some more fill dirt and work on my deck railing (last piece of the puzzle).
I DID however use my 1510 yesterday to get 3-yards of topsoil for my wife's new garden... does that count as IH related :D Also recently bought 6x10 10K dump trailer... so its possible the 1510's days may be numbered. I'm really on the fence with that. Pending purchase of a new (to me) Duramax work/tow/family rig might put that over the edge... as I'll actually have something decent to USE the dump trailer with... but the old IH pig is kind of fun, in its own way.
Blind Driver 06-12-2009, 02:31 PM I plan to ream my steering arms, get the exhaust modified, and swap oil pans so the crossover steering doesn't modify them for me.
im planning on going wheeling but the trailer i normally use is in use elsewhere which leaves the option of driving my rig threre with the high chance of breaking and a messy long tow home, or riding b**** seat with someone else.
....i need my own trailer.
Mechanos 06-12-2009, 02:56 PM I plan on completely disassembling my Scout down the bare frame and completely rebuilding the entire thing.... every nut and bolt. I'll let you know how that turns out.... :flipoff2:
Ben Segrest 06-12-2009, 02:58 PM I plan on pulling the d44 out of the front of my scout to weld out the spring pads and inner C's then put it back in for final assembly. Hope to be rolling again in the next few weeks
Harvester of Sorrow 06-12-2009, 03:25 PM I plan on beating my children and looking at my Scout "project".
Diesel Smoke 06-12-2009, 03:29 PM I plan on beating my children and looking at my Scout "project".
I think you should beat your Scout project and look at your children! But, hey whatever floats your boat.
For me
Work->Sleep repeat! The GF moved to graveyards, so we end up waking each other up about every 3 hours either coming or going. It sucks but I swap at the end of the month and we'll fall into a rhythm soon enough.
scout254 06-12-2009, 05:37 PM attend a friend's wedding:p
crashhawk 06-12-2009, 06:09 PM Sat.-- Go take the exam for my civilian helicopter license. Gonna cost more than I want to pay for something I doubt I'll ever use. But, it's thousands cheaper than if I do it later on my own.
Sun-- Go to a review for my up coming check ride (flight test).
Looks like I get to "voluntarily" work all weekend, and not make a single extra dime.
theycallmefudd 06-12-2009, 06:50 PM planning on making it throught one more day and then VACATION.. at which time I "plan" on re-installing stearing box and making new motor mounts, tranny crossmember, running brake lines, and finishing mini boat side. Also planned is final block sand on wifes ford + paint, and lastly wiring cj taillights so I can drive the bitch....
What will "probably" happen.... 1>to many beers to early in the day, 2>to many naps(see #1),3> to many trips to cruise the p-n-p aimlessly, 4> a general irritated feeling after wasting a whole week:D
ChiScouter 06-12-2009, 07:02 PM It will be interesting to see how this jibes with the weekend report:laughing: I am putting the finishing touches on the new transom for my pontoon boat, so I hope to get it up and in the water by Sat afternoon. After that I hope to get my compressor wired up:D. and start prepping the garage floor for paint. When we scrapped out all the set pieces from The Beast tv show I ended up with 3 12ft stripper poles. Im supposed to meet up with Shane to give them to her (warning the link is 35% ) http://pirate4x4.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=448333&stc=1&d=1244854638 as she is getting ready to retire and wants to set up a studio to teach pole dancing.

Uh. You know the rhythm method doesn't work? :flipoff2:
Spent all day today getting a jump on the weekend. Worked on my trailer most of the day. 'Fixed' the fenders. Adjusted the brakes. Towed it around. Loaded Scout - went to the Scales and weighed everything. Yep -- I'm a fat ass.
My Scout tipped in at 4950 with me in it. So figure another 250 for a passenger, lunch, gear, 5 more gallons of fuel, and a few extra spare parts I usually have along. That puts me at a hefty 5200 in trail condition. YIKES! I need to go on a diet.
My plan is to wheel on Saturday. Unload, clean truck, and hopefully not fix anything on Sunday.
okkool77 06-12-2009, 08:25 PM Hopefully get the new push button ignition wired and maybe finish up the taillights on my damn project...thats Saturday.
Sunday is a whole different story, some Maggpies have been calling my name too much lately...
Time to introduce them to some 7 1/2 bird shot from my shotgun and maybe some clay's will get shot in the process.
BLK Scout 800 06-12-2009, 09:43 PM Not wheel :(
I plan on spending 8-10 hours working on stuff that I thought would take an hour:shaking:
reuben 06-12-2009, 10:52 PM working again
JetFxr 06-12-2009, 11:36 PM I plan on spending 8-10 hours working on stuff that I thought would take an hour :D
I read the rear disc thread, thought I could toss a set on in four hours. I read Manderas recipe and thought the 01 Dodge would go on painless:eek: I bought the Chevy calipers Blah Blah Blah. Well I had a bad axle bearing so I ran it over to a friends shop for a quick press job on the new bearing, he pressed the bearing on backwards:homer: So I wound up using an old axle I had laying around. Had to run to the parts store for the banjo bolts, Chevy are not the same as Scout:eek:Two hours pissed away dealing with dumb ass counter clowns. Then when I burned the caliper brackets on I thought I had tacked them so they would not move, BBBUUUUTTT when I burned them in good they moved of course. Had to get out the torch and fudge them around to fit. So the story is I will have to bleed them tomorrow and that should do it for that project. Twelve hours instead of four

This is probably the most true statement of ANYTHING.
might just be sig. worthy....

Leonard 06-16-2009, 11:45 AM JetFxr, what extensions did you use for your rear disc brake line? I did mine awhile ago, but used the chevy line and it's way too long. Thanks

Looks like an off-the-shelf braided SS banjo x AN line with an AN x inverted flare adapter.
JetFxr 06-16-2009, 10:55 PM What Machanos said:D
There is speed shop here in Billings that carries all kinds of braided brake lines, and fittings. Why cool to walk in and snag what ever you need, bonus is the lines only cost about 12 bones each.
