Could someone tell me if the center carrier for a Dana 30 is interchangable with XJ, YJ, TJ and CJ.

I'm pretty sure that they are NOT the same. ..But I may be thinking of the D35. Wait for a definitive answer, just don't try to make it fit because the guys above me said it's the same.

EDIT: Watch out for high-pinion vs low-pinion and carrier break. Also, keep in mind that even if the carrier fits, the gears won't.

the carriers ARE the same. the carrier break is 3.73 and numercially higher and 3.55 and numerically lower. high pinion and low pinion doesnt matter on the carriers.

To answer your question they should be the same, the only difference would be between the gear break at 3:73 as mentioned and the Open/LS differences.

they are the same. i used my carrier from my lp 30 from my 2000tj (3.73's) in a hp 30 housing from and 89 xj(3.53's).

i needed the carrier from the tj cause of the break casue i was gearing to 4.56's

he asked about the carrier and yes...they are the same. no differnece.

the houseings are different yes.

the gear sets are different yes.

but carriers are the same
