This is my first suzuki buld and I am doing it for my little brother. This is what we have done so far.
SJ410 with 8V 1.6L 2wd 5-speed(installed and running)
toy axles, mini truck front and FJ40 rear(disc front, drum rear)
YJ springs
I am installing a toy PS setup on the 1.6 and it will have high steer.
Now my questions are.
will the toy PS pump be too much for the 1.6L?
What is a good booster/master combo to swap in?(thinking sami booster and firebird master)
Any other unforeseen?
This rig will be a beginner wheeler with open front and locker rear.
Thanks

My bro had 1.6 8v on his sammy with toy power steering. HE loved it. But he was running 36" Irocs. What size tires is your bro gonna use?
Talk to slicknic about booster.....I think he used chevy booster/master and hes got 4 wheel disk and 35's.

sounds like your on the right track the pump will be ok for the 1.6 and the firebird master is a good choice i have run both with no real problems

He will be running 33 or 35" tires. As for the Booster and master since the truck is manual brakes I wasn't sure what was involved in changing over to power and what would be a good candidate.

I'm sure there's a brake FAQ on the swap, but when I do mine I'll probably use a suburu. did I spell that right?

Subaru is the correct spelling. Both the subaru and the firebird master clyinder work well. Good luck with the build. Soulds like a great start so far.

Normally you'd go with the booster that matches the engine. That way you're sure to get the correctly metered vacuum draw.

I have been running a stock samurai booster for years with a firebird MC with no proplems.
