Dont know what you want to do with it (build it or keep it stock).....its a good thing youre close because surplus city in oroville has all the stock stuff. Google them and check out the website. I had very good luck with them for my 47 2-a needs.

4wd.com has everything you need to replace stock parts. They also have a huge selection of aftermarket stuff too.

Do yourself a favor and do everything to it BUT keep it stock. Use the stock body, reinforce it, build a new frame, find a newer 4/6 cylinder drivtrain and throw some dana 44s under it out of a waggy. You'd be able to run 35s and have it be reliable. I have a few that are built as stock (few stock type mods, such as a t-98a granny trannly behind the L-head), but there is always something wrong with them. It seems that every L-head motor i run ends up spinning a bearing, dana 25s explode on everything but very mild trails, and the brakes really need at least a disc conversion in the front to feel safe in my eyes. I know i am prolly pushing these things way beyond their limits, thats why i pretty much exclusively wheel my 1 ton flatty on eveything except just a cruise.

If you wanna keep it for nostalgia since its a family heirloom, consider taking it very easy on the rig and properly maintaining it. I found that buying a couple of parts flattys helps on getting parts that are hard to find. Some of those old 2a's had rear axles that are really hard to find parts for.

I have a 1950 CJ3A and have bought most of my parts from Walck's that has already been listed.

I would also recommend you visit "http://www.thecj2apage.com" website. They are more towards purists when it comes to restoration but there is a lot of CJ2A wisdom on that site.

Sorry, I disagree.
Stock Flattys are just as good if not better than built ones.

i'm with you 100%, but if he's looking to do anything but very mild wheeling, i disagree with you 150%. I've got 3 stock flattys and one built one, I know what goes on with them.
