I applied and am in the testing process for a job with the Baltimore CIty Fire Department and may be moving out to the east coast in the very near future. I would work in Baltimore and for the beginning, live in Harrisburg, PA with a buddy of mine in the beginning.

What can anyone tell me about any of these 2 towns? How's the wheeling scene out this way? Any good clubs, parks, trails or anything within an hour or 2 that I need to know about?

How about around Baltimore? Does anyone have any recommendations for anywhere that's decent to look at for a place to live? I was out there a couple weeks ago and didn't see too many places directly in Baltimore that would look like would be somewhere that I'd be cool with living....any pointers?

Fill me in on the area guys. The people. The places and bars. The pussie situation (I'm 24, single and about to get an awesome job, so I wanna know what I'm workin with....lol)

I'm also looking to see who might be out this way that loves to wheel. Just trying to meet some decent new people out that way.

Any and all help is appreciated.

Zach

rausch creek is gonna be your best place to wheel over here. I belong to Baltimore 4 wheelers (baltimore4wheelers.org). But there are a ton of Jeep clubs in this area, PA jeeps, Maryland Creepers, etc. I wouldn't live in downtown Baltimore city if I were you, I honestly would look in southern york County (new freedom, stewartstown, shrewsbury are 4 miles from MD line)for a cheap place to live. It's about a 45 min commute to Baltimore city.

Im in the coast guard here in baltimore theres nothing really in MD for wheeling but we go up to Rausch Creek PA quite often http://www.rc4x4.org/ (Rausch Creek PA) its a great place to wheel and is just about 2 hours north. Theres also a few places in VA http://www.cnc4x4.org/trails/crozet_tr.htm (Crozet) and http://www.bigdogsoffroad.com/index.html (Bigdogs offroad) but they arent open daily just for special events.

There are a few clubs around im in one in southern MD because thats where im from but theres a few that are more around baltimore.

The bar/party scene in baltimore is pretty good lots of places around to go. There are a whole bunch of clubs and bars downtown in the inner harbor and fells point that are always packed.

For you living situation not sure how close you want to live in to the city but there are a few places you want to avoid around baltimore mostly inside of the 695 beltway. It takes about 20 minutes to get downtown from Glen burnie where i work.

towson or anywhere near I-83 is a pretty good place to live for a single dude...inner harbor is cool...if you want to get shot try walking from one to the other...wheeling consists of parking lots or as mentioned above parks...

Northern Baltimore County is a good place, Towson is a college town with plenty of women. No offroading within 2 hours Big Dogs is a fun place with good trails, Rausch is the go-to place that always has something going on. Maryland is a lot warmer than Michigan.
