Can anyone tell me what automatic transmissions and transfer cases were offered for the 1990 GMC Jimmys? A friend of mine just blew up his transmission and can't identify it. He believes it's a 700R4 but not completely sure.

Fullsize or S10? 700R4/4L60 is the only automatic that was available in either one, but the t-case depends.

yeah, my 89 Fullsize Jimmy had a 700r4-241. I believe the 90 has the same tranny.

Yes it's a full size Jimmy. What transfer cases other then the 241 were offerend? Thank you for confirming the 700R4 transmission.

The 208 was another t case behind the 700r4. I am not sure the years of which ones were in. The case is clearly marked as to which one it is, in most cases.

look for a round tag on the back of the T case will be clearly marked as stated above.
