You know everyone is going to say the Smarty!!! If I had the cash I would have one! The Smarty JR. is a little cheaper, and don't be afraid to buy used.

FWIW, I have an 05 and I have a Superchips Flashpaq. It's not the coolest programmer of all time but it has a conservative fueling curve and I got it for $125...I had one on my 2nd gen and they both make a niticeable differance.

now thats something i would be interested in but the smarty jr ,
the cheapest price i got on the smarty was $595 a bit too pricey for me at the moment and i don,t think its worth the money for what u get when there is other stuff out there that does the same for less
thanks for your reply and input i will look into the smarty a little more

I'm not so sure about others doing the same for less...

I'm running the Smarty Jr. on my 06. The EGTs are quite abit cooler than stock programming with 30-100 extra HP. It really wakes it up and will get up and go.

I'm always thinking and looking at more, just not sure that is worth it. Clutch, Aux Fuel Pump, etc, etc.

I did run a Quadzilla for a little while. It didn't agree with my truck, not as noticeable a difference.

the smarty is nice to stack with something else. the smarty really seems to help on the bottom end.

I've had a Diablosports tuner for near 80k now. No problems. Easily adjusts eng and tranny parameters with code reading options. I do recommend intake and exhaust upgrades, it the only way to get full potential out of any of them.

Until you see the differences in programming between the Smarty and everything else.... I wouldnt say that Smarty isnt worth the money. EGTs, smoke and power delivery are the big 3 if you ask me. Smarty does it with cooler EGTs, less smoke and unbelievable power delivery.

On an otherwise bone stock 06 CTD (dual disc clutch from SBC also), with the Smarty on one of its hottest settings it was boiling the tires in 3rd and 4th gear at 40mph when you would hit WOT. Not a shudder, or quick chirp, but flat out boiling the tires off of it.

Turned down for towing the Smarty runs cooler EGTs with everything else in check as far as engine parameters are concerned. It sure isnt cheap, but I am still convinced its the best bang for the buck tuner out there for 5.9 CR CTDs

our shop has put an edge in a CTD and seems to work quite well for a DD and tow rig

Yes I did, the total combo- 4" exhaust, Airaid intake, and diablosport Predator- on an 02 - 7.3- non catalyst - F 250 4x4. average is just above 2 mpg.. towing and unloaded. I have 4 possible settings, but I normally just use the first 2..
Towing mode -- which is 40 hp, and 80 ft lbs -- for my heavy jobs..

Economy mode - 60 hp and 100 ft lbs -- Loads 8000 and below.

I have used the street and race settings only once each to play, so All I know about them is WOW..

the economy mode is very snappy and all the power I'll ever need, its a huge diff over the stock setting. HUGE
the towing mode is also very snappy, but not as dramatic, and the EGT's have stayed safe with some seriously heavy shit.

I had the tranny rebuilt at 92000, sled puller style, with a custom converter and its even better now- I have a tranny that can take the extra power -- No sweat.. The stock tranny just never felt tough enough so I babied it. I don't anymore. This thing is a real tow MONSTER..
