Are you sure they are 5 lug & not 6?

Could be M715 Kaiser Jeep axles or Rockwells.

postive they are 5 lug and not rockwells because they didn't have the big thing on the top of the diff

how about old power wagon axles?

Yeah, I agree that they are probably the M37/Power Wagon axles, even though they are only 3/4 tonne. They are 5 bolt though, and closed knuckle. Also, the rear diff is offset to the passenger side and there are no diff covers on the front or rear. These would be things you could look at quickly to identify them.

Not trying to hijack the thread, just curious what the M37 axles will hold up to, tire size, power and can a person get a locker for them? Considering the original L6 produced only 77HP new, I am curious if a V8 and 40's will trash them.....also the NP200 T-case...what will it hold up to?

I think "unofficially" they can handle about 200hp and about 38" tires on a 5500lb rig but, as everything, it depends on the driver. I think that there are lockers for them but I don't know for certain.

The NP200 cases have been proven strong by the Florida guys that generally use them as drop boxes rather than the SCS or Profab. They are generally running 400hp with 50-60" tractor tires. Heavier 1410 yokes are available for it.
