I know some of you from around here have been down that trail, I was only able to go in 1mi last week due to it being late I turned around after that creek wash area..."squeeze box"?...
So what I need to know is what is it like further down??..I saw some horsback riders come out of the area and they said real bad and a 6' winch slab/dropoff ahead...
I dont want to head into an area alone if the need for a winch point is required...Wilson, Jesse I think I re-call you talking about the trail a while ago...any info I can get from ya on the trail.
I have not been up there for 8 yrs but know the area overall...anyone going to run the area drop me a line...

5 spd, Went up in the Scout a couple weeks ago, went through long lake and further down aways, I never made it Through to bear though. My bro made it all the way through. Although he has 85 Toy with 37's , 209 reduction, locked F and R. He said there's only one really burly spot, but other then that its all good. I am going up the first weekend in Oct with all the other Sno-Blind crew. Camping through the weekend and drive out sunday. If you wanna go lemmie know! Theres also a second lake just past long lake that has a nice 4 ft drop on one side (full size need not apply.) It was close enough though my scout was hangging off a little (butt pucker factor 10+
:D

Thanks for the info...I know more now..
SnowScoutII...I will drop you a line in the middle of the week..Oct 1st or so to see where you may be that sunday...I work mon-sats so time is tough for me.
I went all the way back to Morris, but did not drive down into it since the trail kinda disintigrated to nothing that looked good at the top..I went off on a few of the other trails out towards Ben Lomand Mtn, Mud lake areas and back down to campbell & long lake...
I hear there is a nice dropoff on the Bear Lake trail and pretty narrow along the dropoff..True??
Thanks all:beer:

I've been there a few times. one spot by the cliff was really washed out around this time last year. I was half a tire width off the edge (and I wasn't full width yet)

not sure how it looks now but that was a long drop!!! be careful

Ok,I think its bear lake that has the drop off
about 40 ft to one side. I did it in the Scout with stock gearing, little harriy buT it can be done. As far as I know everyone is still going the first weekend in October.

Dammit, I leave town for a fishing trip and look what you guys do???? Actually wheel, fawkers:flipoff2:

-5spd, sounds like you already went, but the trail can be run without problems. Full width is a little scarey on the drop off, but I ran it open F/R with IFS and 33's.
-SnowscoutII- I led you into Bear last month, like you said, no real problems. You're either thinking of saddle or Morris.
-Jess or Scott- Give me a call if you gusy are ehading up thsi weekend. I'm working sat, and Nick and I are supposed to do some finishing touches on the buggae, but I'd definitely do a night run.

Bear is a cool trail, but it's actually a 4 mi trip since it's in and out. It's a great palce to camp. I would recommend wheeling in, caming and driving out although I have done it both ways. I can't camp this weekend, but would be willing to run the trail sat night? Then you can watch me climb the left wall and still have my passenger tire on the edge of the 40' drop:D Full width is great
